How does legal immigration number compare to illegal immigration????? If I remember don't we take in more immigrants then the most of the world combined??... also shouldn't the focus on American first and focusing on homelessness, poverty, veterans not being taken care of??? I mean in simple terms...if you feed or house your population why would you bring in outsiders, other then for appearances..Not a wet blanket, it's in the interest of accuracy and the point remains. The article says it was an 11.5% decline from 2016 to 2018. That projects to a 22% reduction over 4 years, which is a huge number.

I believe the dates you pointed out the focus was taking care of America...so of course there would be a decline....but you cant just take 1 source of immigration to prove a point while ignoring the other source....most Republicans are for legal immigration but with illegal immigration out of control and the needs of our own.....the focus has to be fixing those issues 1st...all immigration was down under Trump...as we started back to becoming a self sufficient country...We're not debating the merits of legal immigration, we're talking about whether or not Republican actions show support for legal immigration.
Monday morning QBing from thousands of miles away, but when the US abruptly stopped air support, for an Afghan army that had depended on said support, that seems to have caused a foreseeable and avoidable problem.

That was my understanding of what Trump ad attempting to do..shut it down till we were able to take care of ourselves 1stthere is no point in taking care of others while your own country is drowning..If the resources to keep up with noncitizens here legally are ineffective at tracking those people because they are overtaxed by illegals, then shut it all down and get things under control. Despite the whining by businesses "with legitimate need" and universities, the only exceptions should be for foreign born spouses of military members, for verified life saving medical services, and limited humanitarian slots for those whose lives would be in danger (like Afghan interpreters).
