"So you don't think this could have been handled -- this exit could have been handled better in any way, no mistakes?" Stephanopoulos asked Biden.

"No, I don't think it could have been handled in a way that, we're gonna go back in hindsight and look -- but the idea that somehow, there's a way to have gotten out without chaos ensuing, I don't know how that happens. I don't know how that happened," Biden replied.
That's leadership, baby!

The Afghanistan withdraw is going to get alot of Americans killed. Watching the news, this is a complete disaster. Any person working with America is in danger.

Closing Bagram Airbase Was A 'recipe for disaster': Army Veteran Turned Terrorism Analyst calls for CENTCOM Commander to be Fired for 'dumpster fire' plan to choose Kabul airport to evacuate thousands of people

Abandoning Bagram air base before withdrawing American civilians and Afghan allies was a major tactical mistake, according to senior national security experts, leaving U.S. forces reliant on a civilian airport, with a single runway in the heart of a city controlled by the Taliban.

They said days of chaos could have been avoided if the U.S. evacuation plan included Bagram, 25 miles to the north.

Instead, the world was horrified to watch Afghans dropping from the sky off departing planes while Americans were being told to hunker down at home, and Taliban fighters encircled Hamid Karzai International Airport.

Bill Roggio, a former soldier and senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, demanded the resignation of the Centcom Commander U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Frank McKenzie, who heads the Afghan mission.

I know I have the benefit of hindsight but he makes some very solid points. Hard to defend some if these decisions.

Is Biden’s Foreign Policy Clumsiness Due to Incompetence or Arrogance?

The dominant narrative in the news media is that the election of Joe Biden means that the “adults” and “professionals” are now back in charge of U.S. foreign policy after four years of dangerous, amateurish behavior by Donald Trump and his appointees. Events are proving otherwise. Several early Biden administration actions should sound alarm bells with both Congress and the American people. The only question is whether those missteps reflect incompetence or arrogance.

I'm going with all of the above.

Believe it or not, there are imbeciles that think just that. It’s all good with the scum of a Biden administration because .... well ... it ain’t Trump. It’s as though Trump personally snuck up behind them, pulled their little pink panties down and violated that vag of theirs. Hate and jealousy go a long ways in aiding and abetting moronic thought.
Biden could be filmed cutting off heads along side the Taliban in Afghanistan himself and you would still have the same hating fools on here trying to validate it by saying “well Trump would have sliced off more” or “Trump would have used a dull sword” As pathetic as it is, the lunacy has come that far.

^^^^ Post of the month right here.

Dark horse POTY candidate IMO

My first thought when hearing the Taliban were retaking parts of Afghanistan was why would we give up a single square inch before we had everyone and everything in place for a withdrawal? The final departures should have been from both fields in order to give us options. Smartest guys in the room and all, I guess.

British Officials Fear the US Could Pull Out of Kabul within DAYS leaving thousands stranded Despite Biden's promise to stay until all US citizens are out: President Is Accused Of Keeping Closest Ally In The Dark

British officials are reportedly concerned that the U.S. could withdraw from Kabul airport any time, leaving other countries in the lurch as the world scrambles to get out of Afghanistan.

In a sign of deep distrust between the close allies, British commanders were left wondering whether the U.S. would leave without forewarning them.

Sources told The Guardian that they could not guarantee how long the U.S. would keep its contingent of 6,000 troops on the ground and cautioned that the UK could not continue the rescue without their presence.

The U.K. currently has 900 troops in Afghanistan, supervising the evacuation of the 4,000 or so U.K. citizens still in the country, and the thousands of Afghans who have helped the U.K. over the past 20 years.

I said something similar the other day, and I'm not even one of these vaunted intelligence experts. Common sense should have made it evident.

This particular think tank may have it right this time; but, overall, they all rank right up there with the media and other political wannabes when it comes to facts and objectivity.
