There's also the other path. If you limit both and provide the right incentive - pay and nothing if you don't work, then we can grow our own engineers again. I'm one of those old engineers with a very bad attitude. The corporate guys saw us as too expensive and too vocal about their stupid ideas. Those Indian engineers were good, cheap, and not willing to bite the hand that fed them even if they knew what they were told to do was wrong.

It's incredible monitoring ADS-B sites. It seems like everybody in the world has C-17s, and a lot of them are humping it in and out of Afghanistan. It would be truly fascinating if most military planes were showing up, but just seeing a small part of the picture says there's a lot going on. There are a lot of tankers keeping planes in the air.

I hold a good engineer in the highest esteem. When you think about it, they are the foundation to a nation's success.

You know globalists, economists, libertarians, free trade advocates, and some others see "everything" ... and miss the big picture. Some would put the oxygen mask on others first because of "humanity", some would sell the masks to the highest bidder, some would collect the masks and sell futures; yet all these types would miss the key point ... if you pass out because of immediate needs to keep you living, you wither and die.

In a way I kinda agree..this should be a military operation...having a bunch of private airplanes might endanger more and slow down evacuations.

I agree with you. But I understand what they are doing. They have lost faith that the government will get them out. damn shameful.

Everything in Hollywood is obviously $ driven and certain actors bring in those dollars . Yeah, Cruise and the Reacher thing put me over the top. Reacher needs to be who he is in the books - otherwise, it's just stealing a title and a little plot to make something completely different in a movie. Without Remorse is a travesty - actually my favorite Clancy book, and that's saying a lot.
