Went to dinner and had a few drinks with my brother and a friend he went to school with, served three tours in Afghanistan before being medically retired before his fourth.

He's pissed. For the record he hates Trump and voted for Biden. I'm sure most of this isn't need to anyone and had been covered elsewhere but here are some points he made.

States it was common knowledge to anyone who served alongside the Afghan's the majority would join back with the Taliban if they left. Says if intelligence says they believed otherwise they are lying.

The withdrawal as it played out was counter to basic military concepts, it has civilian written all over it. If brass signed off on it those who did should never see another day in uniform.

Says if we are going to get our people out were going to need special forces en mass which is a bad situation for them.

He said plenty more but those are the cliffs.

Thought about this subject today.

$549 Million Spent On Unreliable Transport Planes

This year he documented how the U.S. Air Force wasted $549 million on faulty cargo planes.

The Pentagon bought 20 refurbished G222 aircraft in 2008 for the Afghan government but they proved unreliable. Spare parts were difficult to find and their crews complained about their safety.

They were put up for sale but eventually sold for scrap at a price of $40,257.

$549M in planes sold as scrap and a $176M road to nowhere: How the US wasted billions in Afghanistan | Daily Mail Online
Yeah but have the Afghanis received proper CRT training. That's what I wanna know.

How many Americans have died so far?
How many of our best allies in the area and their families have been or will be murdered? Is what you are saying that their lives are not important? Because that's exactly what Joe Biden's administration is saying. But I guess it will all blow over because there will never be another foreign war where we depend on humint, so while it stings a little, it will be OK.

In a way I kinda agree..this should be a military operation...having a bunch of private airplanes might endanger more and slow down evacuations.

I don't agree. I saw something from the disaster they called a press conference today about how there were 2,000 people evacuated yesterday and only 300 were Americans.

Obviously the Biden Admin is placing the lives of Americans behind 1,700 other people since the Taliban isn't attacking us... yet.

Anyway, even at only 100 per flight of a C-130 and let's call it 300 for a C-17 (way low numbers) that's only about a dozen flights. Add in maybe another half dozen or so from friendly nations and we'll round up to 20.

The few relief flights that come in are not going to overwhelm the air traffic at that airport. If they are brave enough (read that as being paid well enough) to come in and pick refugees up, let 'em.

No. I’ve come to accept Biden is an incompetent dumbass however I didn’t think even he was stupid enough to remove the military before civilians and allied natives. Boy was I wrong!

US government civilians were out first. U.S. citizens who didn't have the sense to gtfo when the military was pulling back get no sympathy from me.

NOBODY IS SAYING WE SHOULDNT HAVE LEFT WE ARE ALL LAMENTING THE US MILITARY ALL GETTING IN A SINGLE CLOWN CAR AND DRIVING AWAY AT MAXIMUM SPEED

Given the military blunders throughout our history that resulted bodycounts, I’m question that it is “safe to say” this is the worst.

It’s bad, nobody is denying that. But the worst blunder ever? Seems you guys are being a little dramatic here.

At least now you feel the misery that 81 million suffered through for the last four.

Sucks, don't it?

That’s awful convenient and doesn’t really jive with the reports coming out. But I’d hate to interject reality in your righteous rant? 🤷‍♂️

BTW I haven’t got my Willy T’s wife beater T short yet I’m sure you mailed it though right?

I'm not sure, we don't know where many are and can't get to most of them....... Therein lies the problem.

How many can’t we get to? Seriously asking here. And we also need to take into account how many had the ability to leave months ago and didn’t. There is some culpability with them. No?
