It was a kind gesture for all those nice fans to want to give Jeff Gordon those free alcoholic beverages. But come on, guys, he was still driving. We don't want to be promoting drinking and driving, do we?

unbelievable... complete lack of class. those guys go out there and put their lives on the line for 500 miles and in thanks, you throw beer and crap at the winner, just because it was Jeff Gordon who won? pathetic.

I have never been a fan of Gordon and never will be, but the fact that these fans continue to throw cans of beer (which constitutes alcohol abuse IMO) does not sit well with me. I look for NASCAR to try to stop this somehow even if it means possibly banning cans in the stands. You know kind of "buy it at the concession booth in a plastic cup or dont drink" kind of thing.

That is a Miller Lite can, throwing a full can of that isn't a waste. :)

If it had been Bud Light, that would have been a waste.

No one needs to get their panties in a wad, I am joking.

just because i support the driver doesn't mean i drink the beer.

matter of fact, both Bud Light and Miller Lite are crap (and that's the nicest thing i'll say about their taste).

I can already see the writing on the wall for this happening, WITHOUT cans being thrown onto the track. It's a damn shame, the races are the only public event these days where you can have all the beer you want, and a full belly to boot, without having to spend $80 or so for 2 people for the day

You are right, and this only gives the tracks more reason to do so.

Amen. I remember taking so many 12 packs of beer into the infield at Indy we could make furniture out of them!

I saw people driving beaters into the infield with holes cut in the trunk and 2 kegs sticking out! The trunk was filled with ice.

there would be a riot if someone threw something at Jr or Tony, simply bc they have enough fans at the track to cause one.......too bad Jeffy doesnt have enough fans to have his back :cray:
