Per reports on Twitter, and have been confirmed by the game, Tamari Key is not even at the game for Chattanooga. Reports on Twitter advise Coach Kellie will be addressing the reason after the game. Making a thread in case this is long term issue.

But if it’s an illness why not just say out with illness ?

I think someone said she tried to give it a go in the first warm-up session. If I'm the coach, I am not going to say anything that might help the other team (even UTC) who spent considerable thing preparing to defend Key's height.

Kellie will probably say in the post-game...she went in and threw up. Happens every year to someone.

Called it a “medical issue” in her press conference.

Kellie would say medical issue because if it's a flu or covid those require tests and you may not have results back if she had just taken the test to actually say what it is. So that's why kellie probably said she would update when she found out.

Also, someone at the game said looking at the bench sunday TK didn't seem to feel well coughing a lot ... probably was the beginning of whatever she was coming down with

I haven't made a trip up for a game yet, not sure when I will, but I have seen some note that she's seemed to struggle with respiratory issues all year. I heard Harper reference in a couple of interviews that Key could only play in short stretches. It's impossible that she's just out of shape this time of year, so there may be a long term issue. I know there were a couple of players on the men's team that were Coivd long-haulers, I hope that's not the case here.

I have long COVID, and I've definitely wondered about certain players I've watched this year (not just the Lady Vols). The scale of long COVID is so huge there just have to be players who've been affected (the only public story I recall seeing is that of AD in the WNBA). I really hope this isn't what's affecting Tamari and wish her the very best of health.

When I hear, “medical issue” my first thought is that is the same thing Heupel said when Jeremy Banks missed the South Carolina game but apparently is was a locker room issue.

I believe Coach Harper but at this point it is just speculation.

Yeah that’s not the case here, she was actually ill from the reports I’ve seen from people at the game as well as a few other close sources.

TK has absolutely earned the benefit of the doubt on this. Say what you will about her on court play, but her behavior has been exemplary since the day she arrived. KJH just said in a presser a couple of days ago TK is a great teammate and has earned the love and support of all the Lady Vols. She simply got sick sometime after shoot around.

If TK got suspended for a game due to behavioral issues, then the wheels of the culture have truly come off. But I don't believe that for a second.

The Lady Vols limited Chattanooga to just 8 first-quarter points, the fewest points scored by any Lady Vol opponent in an opening period this season. It was the first time the Mocs had been held below 10 points in a first quarter and just the third time they'd posted single-digit scoring in any quarter during the 2022 campaign.

Yeah, the Mocs may not have a roster loaded with super stars but our defense shut them down anyway. Kara and Jillian did a good job of stepping in to fill that void.

I don't know what happened just like almost everyone else, but I kinda hope she said something in frustration because she is not accustomed to losing. I like it when players don't like losing. Especially when the player is talented and will work hard to change it.

A person on another site said he talked to Tamari after the game Sunday and that she told him then she was coming down with something and was totally congested. So considering that Doctors offices are full this time of year with viruses, and flu she could have become a victim of one of these. That could mean two or three days to a couple of weeks. Get well soon Tamari.
