Rocco Baldelli just punched it in for TB's 10th walk off win of the year. I feel bad for most of the country who never gets to see them play, because its starting to feel pretty magical with this team. The heart, the hustle, the speed, the defense, the pitching, the timely hitting....this team is no joke.

It's a great story no doubt. However, in the postseason I think they will lose in the first round. I would be shocked if they make it to ALCS.

Why?

Because they havent been there before? First time for everything. Give me the youth over experience any day now, and Jim Leyland recently came out and said the same thing.

Tampas's guys are younger and fresher than Boston's, Chicago relies too much on the home run, and we've already shown we can compete with the Angels because the rays damn near swept them here a week ago. We've had the best record in baseball more or less since the all star break and have a ton of come from behind victories.

All the things that are shaky on our team have been shaky since day one and yet that hasnt stopped Tampa from keep on keeping on. Closing remains a concern because of Percival's wear, but we've got good starting pitching, awesome defense, and timeley hitting. You dont need mega stars at every position, look at the Yanks.

I just think in a short series they will get beat by chicago, boston, or anaheim...doesn't matter who...you better hope longoria comes back just as effective...also do you think they will bring up David Price? He appears more the major league ready...

Just my 2 cents...

Longoria will be fine. If anything, the Rays tend to be overl protective of guys with injuries. Besides, his replacement Aybar has done well in his abscence.

Price isnt ready quite yet but dont be suprised if they call him up just for an extra pitcher in the playoffs to give teams a different look on the mound,

The hustle part needs to have an asterisk beside it

*: B.J. Upton

He's gone after this year, bank on it. Everybody in town is calling for his head but we just need his bat so badly right now. One of the most frustrating players I've ever seen. :banghead2:

One of the most talented players in baseball. (as is his brother)

But i mean.. c'mon son. Play like you're supposed to play. There are plennnnty of guys who would gladly step in and bust their tails to play over you, so pure talent won't always do the job.

he won't be eligible to pitch in the playoffs, there's no need to rush him anyway.
