TAMU loses recruits via Twitter

I agree. That coach is a loser - especially trying to say his tweet had nothing to do with the decommitment.

Loyalty is one thing, but so is manning up and taking responsibility for your actions. Childish twitter games.

This was it?

"I feel sorry for ppl who never understand loyalty. I can't really even vibe with u. At the end of the day trust is 💯 & everything else is BS"

I don't think that's bad

Yes, not that bad - I agree. Why even say that though? He just felt like he needed to make a statement after that?

Dude is a joke!

Not sure if the link mentions it but the #1, #2, & #3 top recruits in Texas tweeted they would be removing A&M from consideration after last night. Joined by them is a 5* WR from CA, 4* Safety from NV and a 4* RB from Texas. Total disaster for A&M. Very entertaining though.

Did you read his follow up tweets?

There's nothing truly "bad" about it, the coach just sounds like a petulant teenager in his tweets. Lowering himself to the same emotional and social level as his recruits. Not a great thing. Not a terrible thing, but certainly not becoming of him or, by extension, the program.

If a coach under me used a public forum to call a bunch of 17-18 year olds soft and shame them for their lack of loyalty, I'd fire him on the spot.

Ya, his follow ups were way worse. He made it perfectly clear over and over that he was commenting on a high school kid. Immature should describe the 17 year olds involved in recruiting, not the grown coaches...

"Better to stay off of Twitter and have people think that you're an idiot vs. Tweeting and removing all doubt!"

Gooooooo aggies!

Recruiting has become so ridiculous and everyone is to blame for it. Coaches, fans, hanger-ons etc put these kids on such a high pedestal, they get turned into mini celebrities. Throw in social media and how a grown adult can follow a 15-16-17 year old kids every move as well as hang on their every word regarding where they'll attend college is getting out of hand. Places like Twitter and Facebook is such a good tool but as we see with Coach Dumb&&&, can also be very negative.

This being said, I would fire this coach today or ensure all his tweets regarding the Texas A&M football program are monitored before he hits send

I think the tweets he made were akin to "I'm butthurt", but they were not that bad. Recruits dropping because of those tweets are a bit over reactors themselves IMO>

He called a kid out for not being loyal and then called all the kids who decommitted soft. All he did was ruin relationships. I'd get rid of him

I just didn't see it as being that horrific......maybe I just have thicker skin. Purely speaking to the recruits that recommitted. As far as keeping him employed, if you want to save those recruits with soft feelings, maybe **** canning the coach will bring them back in................still would say he got fired over a very weak reason.

What he said wasn't horrific or even offensive BUT the aftermath of what he said was.
