The Football Season begins next Saturday.
There is going to be amble opportunity for the "faithful" to be jumping off the band wagon in the next few weeks.
We know all the obvious, young OL, young here, new staff, etc, etc,. but the fact is, UT may only have 2 games left they will be favored in.
The "faithful" have set the bar on a young team going to a Bowl Game (that they would not attend by the way) for this Season. Its hard for Vol Fanz to admit or even think about having to push a couple upsets just to get to 6-6!
I would humbly suggest we enjoy watching these youngins' grow, mature and work to get better. Accepting what it is for NOW and giving Jones some latitude and support in rebuilding would be easier than putting bandages on those scrapes after that jump!! :hi:

I agree with most of what you wrote except the part about needing 2 upsets to reach 6 wins. Since we already have 2 wins, you must think we will only be favored in 2 more games. A Vol victory over which one of the following 3 teams do you think will be an upset: Chattanooga, Kentucky, or Vanderbilt?

I am fairly certain that we need only 1 upset to reach 6 wins.

I also disagree that the fans won't attend a bowl game. I think this fan base is so hungry for a return to any bowl that they would travel in droves to a post season game. JMO

I agree with only 1 "upset" thought posted earlier. I agree with the statement above. But in addition to the fan base bein g hundreds for a bowl, I think the fans turn out in tremendous numbers because THE FANS GET IT AS WELL AS BUTCH. I think the fans want to show Butch, the team and recruits we support them. That's why 60K or so showed up for the O & W GAME, and 40K for an open practice.

Would you go to the Pooooulan Weed Eater Bowl in Shreveport? Yes, some would go for the right reason. Outside of a Bowl in Nashvegas or Hotlanta....I hope you are correct.

And yes, we should be a favorite over KY, but that could change based on injuries and health coming out of the tuff part of the season. The only advantage may be it is a home game!!
Wins or loses aside, coming off of UGA and OK, if we can stop the injury bug, I give this team a good chance against the freakin gators at HOME. We need a standing room only crowd in orange and NOT blue for that game!!
MissLou is another one, butt again, we have got stop the injuries or this could turn south quickly.

the way USC is playing,if we keep building up steam and arent depleted with injuries to key spots,I wouldnt call that game an upset... I am totally unimpressed with USC,and thought they were extremely over rated to begin with at #9 to begin the season...
