Targeting & 10 Second Rule

Since Saban and Bielema tried to sneak this in under the auspicious guise of player safety...the penalty should be to put the kibosh on this next year

Good move on the targeting, and the snap thing is a joke. It should not even be considered.

I bet we do see the refs standing over the ball a bit longer, and more strongly enforcing the existing snap rules.

It's just too stupid and funny to watch an HUNH offense get motion & formation penalties.

Like I've said many times, the only way to get it in front of the committee this year was to look at it from an injury standpoint. And EVERYONE knew that wouldn't pass. Even those bringing it up. But it HAD to be brought up, and it HAS to be looked at .. even if only by multiple studies discounting injury, future liability for schools using the HUNH is decreased. ( See last years concussion lawsuits). Now it WILL cause a bunch of studies, cussing and discussing, and next year, or the year after that, the committee will start tinkering with the rules if having the refs more involved between snaps doesn't work.

Especially in Bama games!

That change in the targeting rule is a complete no brainier. It was stupid for the ejection to be reviewable but not the penalty itself.

I thought Saban gave up early and that it was Big-10 Arkansas who fought to the bitter end.
