He's the better player. He should get the shot to turn it around. If he doesn't, just play Bone more minutes. It's really simple.

But why even give Tatum another chance? He's had numerous chances to get out of his slump and he didn't shown any signs in the SEC tourney to warrant a start in a NCAA tourney game. This is it, each game could be their last. Also, if a coach is serious about a player earning their playing time, Pearl obviously doesn't follow it. I know it's who finishes the game that matters, but still...

I'm not saying play him 30 minutes. I'm saying try to get him going offensively early. Run a couple plays for him, and see if he can get it going. If he can't, bench him, and play Bone the majority of the game.

We're not going to advance without a 3rd scoring option. I don't see the harm at trying to get the person with the most potential to be that option going.

Cam will log more minutes than Bone if, and only if, he is miracuriosly cured of all of his inexcusable misses of wide open 3s.

It also wouldn't hurt if he stopped with the stupid discission of driving to the basket with no thought of what to do with the ball.

This team simply has no depth of talent. Tatum is the third best scoring option and he's been terrible--a wimp--all year. Williams has is moments but is not active enough and not skilled enough to be good, which is too bad because he's got a Charles Barkley body. (Speaking of Barkley, what a total waste he is as an NCAA analyst--the guy doesn't know the teams at all and just blathers a little. It's too bad the networks guy keep trotting him out because he's a celebrity.) And after Williams we basically have nobody--and there you have it. We've got two guys who are capable of scoring when scoring is needed---and everybody else, offensively, is a cipher! Pearl, McBee, Fields, Tatum, Bone, Golden, etc--it's a weak supporting cast which is why duke will beat us by 30 if we are lucky enough to slip past Michigan.
