Hey Rex, can you tell me anything about this kid. We're not listed in his favorites on Rivals but it says on scout that we're going after him. I guess he's pretty small but has sprinter speed. Thanks.

The next big thing?

Wearing slightly faded jeans that hang low but comfortably over white sneakers, Tavon Austin glides through the busy hallway of Dunbar High.

Under his left arm, he carries a notebook and a binder. On his wrists are names tattooed in dark, cursive lettering. His grandmother's name, Louann, is on his right wrist. His mother's name, Cathy, is on his left.

Girls walk up to him and pull at his oversized hoodie, which drapes loosely over a lime-green collared polo shirt. They giggle as they say his name. He can't help but smile.

Farther down the hall, some football players lean casually against dark blue, rusting lockers. The afternoon sun shines through and illuminates their laughing faces.

When Austin approaches the group, he blends in easily, trading barbs and slapping hands with friends. Austin is soft-spoken, but when he talks, everyone listens.

Ross (Ohio): Bill what are WVU's chances with Lamar Miller, Tavon Austin, Morgan Moses?

Bill Conley: Miller may be tough to get out of Florida but I'm sure Doc Holliday, who has always done a great job in Florida, will work him hard. ... Austin will probably pick between Pitt, West Va. and Maryland. Moses will be the toughest to get even though he is relatively close. He might choose Michigan or Tennessee even over the Virginia schools.

From the Nebraska site...talks about preparing for a state title run...says West Virginia, Nebraska and Maryland are showing the most interest. Says he is sure he will visit Michigan, Georgia and WVU with the other two up in the air.

That's what everyone said about Brandon James @ UF. The only killing that happened was him killing our special teams.

If he did come here and we used him on ST like Brandon James then I would be happy, but to be an every down back like Foster, Jamal, Houston, etc. you have to be bigger than that.

What's the point of this?

Yeah, he plays WR about 30 plays a game and return kicks. He isn't a RB.
Not true at all. He is most definitely a change of pace RB. He is LSU's second leading rusher that is returning this year. He had every bit of 2 catches for 3 yards last year. Either you don't know what you are talking about or you have him confused with someone else.

He's listed as a WR on their website. I do see where he has more rushing yards than receiving yards though.

It doesn't matter what he is listed at. That is not his position and he most definitely doesn't see 30 snaps a game out wide. He has 2 career catches and I don't think I have ever seen him in the slot more than once a game. He is a RB.

I honestly thought he was a WR, but looked and most of his highlights are at RB and KR. It's weird because more than one site lists him as WR.
