I thought this was a great idea, no chance of going anywhere, but thought it was a good article to gander at.

I heard Huckabee talk about doing this in his state. He said that through his efforts they raised a grand total of $1100 from all the elected officials (and $1k of that was from 1 guy).

It would make more sense to give that money to charity. They actually use said money to help where needed and are more efficient in doing it. Your "extra" tax money could end up funding a gay community center in San Fran.
