Unless I'm mistaken, Erik Ainge hasn't been selected as a team captain this year. Any reason why this would be? It certainly wouldn't be due to lack of performance, for sure. Just curious.

he's not a senior. i think it is pretty rare for us to have any one who is not a senior be a captain. of course its also rare for us to have game captains and not season long captains. obviously inky was an exception, but they had an exceptionally good reason. peyton wasnt a captain until his senior year, so performance does not dictate that you should be a captain. i believe in past seasons where we had the same captains all year they were voted on by the players and they HAD to be a senior. of course this year is different and i dont know how they pick them but i would imagine being a senior is still a big part of it.
