I posted this a while ago...but I wanted to copy it and post it again, in case you don't get to the earlier one.
While today was a sad day for me, I must say that I am so appreciative of your program, your fans and especially your coach.
There are times too often when the person who does the right thing gets the short end of the stick. Bruce Pearl, however...I am just so happy for him and your program. He did the right thing by suspending those players and he deserves this big win!
That, alone, separates a program like Tennessee from programs like Kentucky or Memphis. You have a coach who does the right thing, even if it's easier to do otherwise to have a better chance at winning.
To the fans there today...you were phenomenal! I'm sure I would be blown away at Neyland Stadium, as many people are when they come to Allen Fieldhouse. There is still something special, though, something growing inside Thompson-Boling that is turning electric and it's going to be a joy to watch in the coming years! You were all very courteous in your win today, and that's classy. That, again, separates you from programs like Kentucky and Memphis.
In conclusion, and before I drink myself to sleep (gotta hand it to me...hard loss), I just want all of you Volunteers to know that I am a fan of YOU!!! Tough team. Unbelievable coach!!! Great fans!!! Horrible loss for me, but hey...it needed to happen for us...and for you...and for all that is right in the world.
My only issue, though...students...don't chant "over rated" when the team your chanting that to might actually be the best team in the country. Kansas isn't over rated. We just lost a game on the road to an amazing Tennessee squad who might just end up being under-rated.
Great win you guys! I'll be pulling for you this year!
