2017 Under Armour: Stock up, stock down

Stock Down

-Oak Ridge (Tenn.) High WR Tee Higgins: There was a lot of hype for the nation’s No. 17 overall prospect per 247Sports but the 6-foot-4.5, 188-pound receiver did not look like a five-star during the week. The Clemson commit was relatively quiet while other, lower-ranked pass-catchers consistently made big plays.

-Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic WR Amari Rodgers: The Clemson pledge is on the shorter side at 5-foot-9.5 but weighs 221 pounds. He does not seem as fast on the field as some of the other slot receivers in the game. He can make plays but, as the current No. 84 player in the country by 247Sports, it seems his ranking is a bit high.

Higgans will be a quality receiver IMO. I lost a lot of respect for him for the way he played Tennessee though. Very strange events surrounded his Clemson commit.

Their HS competition is at best average so the jury is still out on ranking. The hype train may have put the cart ahead of the horse on some.

This more than anything. Take these 2 out of East TN and put them in 6-8 A FL competition and see what happens.

Maybe they're legit, who knows. But the level of competition plays a part.

This is just one person's observation, but having seen both in person this season (Tee vs. Farragut and Amari vs. Belfry), I'd take the latter.

According to some, I don't believe Higgins has qualified yet. His ACT score is the problem, it's too low and he has taken it multiple times, he may be on his way to JC.

Anyone think that the local academic support treated him from star to regular student after his shenanigans with decommitting?

Especially considering that Oak Ridge is 5A and Catholic i 4A. The overall competition is much lower than even Tennessee 6A. Hard to judge a college talent playing Clinton,Karns, Powell, and Union County.

Maybe the fans would want Tee, but I see nothing from Amari that would make me want to add him to the program. And by 'we' you mean the fans, right? Because the coaches seemingly have zero desire to pursue Tee Higgins after his little July 4th announcement.

That might be the reason he hasn't set up an official visit to clemson yet.

This doesn't surprise me about Higgins - I've seen him play a couple of times and in those games the other WRs on the team were more impressive. They seemed to want to be there - he didn't.
