Man was the quarterback of the team that won the latest National title in our school history, and loves Tennessee.
I'm 18 and can tell he wanted the job; but, this is a business, he has a family, and he made the best decision for his family right now.
People on here saying he isn't a VFL need to step back from the ledge and take a long, cold, draw of that Martinade that still tastes sweet eventhough it was brewed in '98.
Tee is a legend and a Vol.
Show some couth and stay classy Vol fans.

*btw He will be available next off season when Kiffin gets the boot!

Ok I'm not on the butthurt train but starting an appreciation thread for the guy that just turned us down is a little much.

Almost like saying "thank you for even considering our lowly program". That is not the way of the Orange. I wish the best for Tee but I want anyone who turns down or bails from a job at UT to regret it. Now or 10 years from now.

I feel bad for his son in Knoxville, not fans. Rediculous to act like we have been betrayed in some way. I agree that he has to put his family first, but his son in Knoxville is his family too. I feel bad for that kid. Not saying Tee made wrong or right decision, just saying that his decision affects more than a fanbase.

You're 18. No offense but that's little more than talking sperm.
He stuck his boot in our face when the entire Vol nation was reaching out to him. CBJ will do what's right for the Vols. Tee missed the boat, and I DON'T APPRECIATE HIM AT ALL. When wonderboy gets fired next year, Tee can go coach at a JC somewhere in sunny Calif. :neener2:

Love Tee Martin! I think he made the right decision. If I was a college coach I would stay out there. Or take a job with Saben if offered. Young hotshot coach doesn't need to be at the 6th best team in the east. Probably 5th best now. I do believe CBJ can beat Vandy.

Tee visiting Knoxville reminds recruits that TENNESSEE DID WIN a National Championship when he played here. Frankly, the University of Southern California doesn't mind having connections with Tennessee, so why should Tennessee mind our connections to the University of Southern California? We compete for top recruits, so turn those frowns upside down and start acting like fans players want. Let's send our staff to Cali and take our fair share of their recruits. Not everybody wants to play there or live there. I've been to Orange County; believe me, it ain't Rocky Top.

I don't know exactly how to feel about Tee. I will share several thoughts. Yes, I wanted to see Tee come coach for the Vols, but, if he can turn us down to stay with the most hated coach in TN, maybe he's not the guy we thought he was. If that's the case, we don't want Tee. We wanted what we thought Tee was. I don't think Tee had any ill will towards our program by turning the job down. However, I do feel like Lane hiring him was a deliberate thumb in our eye(not exactly like he was a nationaly renowned WR coach), and I don't see how anyone who loves the orange and white could want to work for that guy. If the rumors that his wife wants to stay in LA because she's an "entertainer" are true, she needs to realize that she was never more than a one hit wonder. It ain't gonna happen, sweetheart.

It would have been nice to have a guy who has a National Championship ring that he won while QBing the Vols to sell recruits on UT. If we still want that, Hank Lauricella is stil alive...
