Tee Martin promoted to OC at USC

USC: Wide receivers coach Tee Martin has been promoted to offensive coordinator. Martin has been at USC since 2012. Head coach Clay Helton has said previously he won't call plays next season. In a release, Helton says, "I have never been around a coach quite as complete as Tee Martin." Keep track of

Tee might be replacing him someday as head coach.

For some reason, USC has had a lot of coaches bomb-out after a few yrs. Not just recently either. It was a good dry spell from Robinson I to Pete Carroll.

A first year OC with play calling duties under a first year head coach at a program with expectations as high as USC? This might not end well.

Also, it seems like USC is going on the cheap with the staff this time around. Not that Tee is a bad hire.

The coordinator, the first person viewed to jump start a struggling program as the new HC.

Pathetic that someone would trash someone like Tee Martin for climbing the coaching ladder.

Sensitive much? He did not in any way trash Tee Martin or express jealousy. It is a reality that it is much easier to be a darling of the fan base as a position coach/recruiting extraordinaire, than it is to be accountable for the offense's production especially at a place like USC who will not cut a first year coordinator any slack (just like at UT).

We all hope the best for our former players. You are reading something into his post that wasn't there and looking to take offence to it.

It's just as much reality that this is a sign of success, proof that Tee made the right choice and is viewed very highly. If you want to pretend it's not a slight on Tee, you have a completely sh***y outlook on life.

Good for Tee. I just wished he would have jumped on board with Butch and his staff. He would have been a good addition for our Vols. I just didn't like how he handled speaking about how he turned down the Vols and Butch, and the remarks he made about Hurd. He only wishes he had a stud RB like Hurd on his roster.

Sure, it's a great opportunity and his abilities are well respected. It also looks like you're a drama queen and looking to take offence to innocent comments where none was intended.

Need some cheese with that whine! Jeez get over yourself. USC has been a dumpster fire for 12 -15 years. Good luck to anyone trying to build a career at that program.
