Tee is currently in preseason camp with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He was signed by the Bombers last year after being released by the Oakland Raiders. Tee was active for the last 7 weeks of the season in 2004, but did not see any action.
After the Bombers acquired Tee Martin, they almost immediately traded starter and former league all-star Khari Jones. Kevin Glenn started for the remainder of the season. He is the preseason favorite to start for the Bombers, and put up some pretty good numbers towards the end of last season.
There is a window when CFL players can be signed by NFL teams. Team officials were afraid that Tee would end up signing with an NFL team. However, Tee re-signed with the Bombers.
Team officials like what they've seen from Tee, but caution the CFL fans that time is needed for Tee to learn the differences in the CFL game.
Going into training camp, the Bombers had Kevin Glenn, Tee Martin, and Stanley Jackson as quarterbacks. The Bombers recently acquired Spergon Wynn in a trade and released Stanley Jackson.
Wynn was the backup quarterback for the B.C. Lions and just like Tee has some NFL/NFLEL experience. Wynn played for the Browns and Vikings from 2000-2001, passing for 585 yds (46.1%), 1 TD, and 7 int in 10 games. In Europe in 2001, he completed a league-high 193 passes on 337 attempts for 2,041 yards and 14 TDs. He has spent the last 2 seasons as the backup qb for the BC Lions.
Kevin Glenn has been in the CFL since 2001. He started 9 games in his first three seasons with the Roughriders. He was then traded to Winnipeg and started the final 8 games of last season passing for 2,329 yards on 166-of-274, 14 touchdown passes and eight interceptions.
Tee has been listed several times on the Bombers' press releases as one of the preseason 'Stars of the Day."
Tee was injured (knee, day-to-day) this week during practice.
The Bombers first preseason game is tonight at 9:00 eastern time. Hopefully, he'll get some action tonight?
The Bombers first game vs the Saskatchewan Roughriders, June 25 at 10pm, will be televised in the United States on the following channels: America One, FSN NY*, CSN Chicago*, CSN West*, and CSET.
