Tee Martin

Why? What has he done? Jay Grahman has proven himself Tee hasn't. and if its because he just happened to be the QB on the team that won an NC then that is the type of thinking that put UT in this position. Al Wilson drug that team to an NC nobody else.

Well he has done an amazing job recruiting so far at USC. We need some home grown players on the team. I totaly agree Graham should remain on the staff as well.

AMEN! I like Tee, and am thankful for all he did in our championship season 1998. But why in the hell would anyone want him here so bad as a coach? He's done nothing...the only reason Kiffart wanted him is to gain more access to southeastern recruiting. Sheeeeesh.

yea bc Tee Martin didnt tos 2400 yards that year, and Travis Henry didnt scamper for 1000 with stephens right behind him with another 500, or J. Lewis with another 500, and peerless price didnt catch 1100 yards at all either...Your're right, it was ALL Al Wilson

Of course he's done well at USC look at the talent in California, but how well has that talent worked? Seems to me they were the preseason National Champs. How's that working so far?

Glad you agree.

Tee did exactly what Cut wanted and that was to NOT lose games.

The next year when he HAD to win games he couldn't.

Really? I dont agree with you at all. with that said, I do NOT think Tee is a good HC option, I just think your comment was ludicrous. Thats like saying Peyton was great because he could never beat florida, win a heisman, or a NC, just makes no sense.

The number 1 prospect in the state of Tennessee is currently committed to Southern Cal. Who recruited him? Oh yeah... Tee Martin.

That's dumb. Martin carried our asses during the middle part of the season. He is the last Vol ALL SEC Conference QB for a reason. We would not have beaten UGA (who were in the Top 10 at the time), Notre Dame, and Alabama (who were in the Top 5 at the time) without Martin.

Tee was named SEC POW 3 weeks during 1999. He showed up with a new OC and very green WRs who had no breakaway ability. The ones that did couldn't run the correct routes (D. Stallworth) and didn't see the field much.

That had more to do with Dooley and UT's direction than with Tee. Now you see where Dooley's at.

why? because it doesn't fit your argument? No im not. Im just simply saying that al wilson is the only reason we won that national title is like saying Peyton is the reason we never beat Florida while he was here or won a Naitonal Championship. Neither argument makes a bit of sense.

Manning didn't get a chance to beat Florida because the coaches at UT were so screwed up when they played UF. What did Al to to UGA QB? What did he do against UF that year? Look it up. The defense led that team especially early in the year. Tee had less to do with the success of that team than about 6 others led by AL

In his two years in the SEC, he made a mark, credited with helping develop former Alcoa High School star Randall Cobb, who was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, and Chris Matthews, who was a second-team All-SEC selection. He is among the top 20 recruiters in the SEC as ranked by ESPN.com.

Gee, looks like a terrible WR coach.

Of course, Dooley never gave him a call:

Asked late Wednesday by the News Sentinel's Griffith if Martin had considered any of the recent openings on Derek Dooley's Tennessee staff, Martin texted: "Never got a call."

Tee Martin going to Southern Cal as an assistant coach, 'never got a call' from UT : govolsxtra.com

Why does it NEVER cease to amaze me that die hard UT fans ALWAYS blame the coaches when it comes to Peyton? yea, Im not saying Al didnt play a HUGE role, Im just saying just bc he played a huge role, dont discredit the rest of the team for the wins as well.

Manning played some good games against UF and blah games but to blame RB's fumbling inside your own 20 or the defense falling apart on Manning as you are amazes me. Manning dismantled UF in the first half one year and UT put up 31 on UF only to watch the defense come apart in the 2nd and UF finish with 62.

Like I said Tee was part of the team and played QB. He did what Cut wanted and didn't lose games.

ok either you are using selective hearing over the internet or you are just that ignorant. You OBVIOUSLY haven't read anything I have typed. Never said Peyton was the reason I said, saying that Al is the ONLY reason we won the NC is LIKE SAYING PEYTON IS the reason we didn't beat Florida. If you are going to argue a point I am making, at least KNOW the point I am making.
