Telander

Telander, Herring, Carter, and Spillman are going to give us an elite LB corps the next 2-3 years.
Might take Carter a bit longer. If memory serves, his move to LB is recent and his draw in recruiting is based on his physical attributes and potential. Got a lot to learn which might be why we're not seeing as much of him as we'd expected. Game might be too fast for him right now.

Carter has 17 tackles and didn't pay yesterday because of injury.

Telander has 17 tackles after the UCONN game.

He probably would have had a breakout game yesterday had he played.

Yeah if anything Carter has probably gotten more playing time to this point than Telander, though they’ve both played a lot for true freshmen. They will both be all-SEC caliber next year and beyond, imo. They’re also roommates, which is very cool. Might have to come up with a nickname for them in future…maybe the “bruise brothers.”

He plays the same linebacker spot as Beasley. Jean-Mary is more reticent to sub for him than from Herring to Telander.

The frosh LB have potential, but I still think we should go after one LB in portal. It would be interesting if Pili tried to get an extra year. If he shows the remainder of the games then we know he is gone.

Herring has for the most part played well. Perry plays a lot in pass coverage schemes from what I’ve noticed. Overall we have done a great job in rotating the young LB into the game which will pay dividends next year.
