I coach high school travel baseball in Atlanta and I can tell you that Josh Dobbs is a legit baseball player. We need to get him signed on with Coach Serrano as well. I mean VERY good baseball player. Josh is just a real good kid on and off the field. FWIW

Yep. I prefer black rbs. All day. Every day.

Lol. I prefer white qbs. All day. Every day. Seriously, the kid could be greatest qb ever at UT. He could also never see the field. Idk. I do know I am very excited and believe in Jones, the staff, and our entire roster. Worley may be the starter for 2 years. He`s no slouch. What did they clock his throwing speed as during the Candy game? It was like 54mph to Bray`s 58mph wasn`t it? I mean dang! Worley is being counted out waaaay too soon. I cannot wait to see the O&W game! I wish Dobbs was an EE. Go Vols!

As an aerospace engineer graduate from UT, I would like to know what they sold to Dobbs to get him to flip from ASU.

Bray is gone, so he could compete for the starting gig upon steping on campus, just a possibility. Guessing we signed better recievers, too. And at least this year, we will have a good OL.

Smarted than the smartest football player of all time, we are talking football right.:eek:lol:

Intelligence isn't everything at QB. Look at the Bills with their Harvard graduate.

Still though, I'd rather have a Josh Dobbs than a Vince Young.

I'm excited about this kids potential. Although I don't think he sees the field for a year or two.

Did it not go well?

Judging from his "PotS (moker)" handle, he proly finished with the rest of the class voting him "Most Slow, Dumb, and Stupid" superlative, or most likely to star in "Dumb and Dumbier 2" Good thing for him the engineering school dosen't do drug testing. :p

UT has a totally acceptable Mechanical/Aerospace school. They place graduates in top businesses and graduate schools across the nation. AND Josh gets to compete in the SEC! You get out of it what you put in!

That Harvard graduate is a starting quarterback in the NFL.

And yet he's probably the 20th or 25th best starter in the league, and throws a good deal of interceptions. Despite probably being in the top 5-10 most intelligent qb's in the league.

My point being, there's more to it than that.

i would love to have a NFL talent at QB anyday...

Why do you think he's an NFL talent (I hope he is, but he hasn't even taken a snap yet)?

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, and Williams College all have football teams led by very smart young men.

That doesn't mean they'll all end up in the NFL.

You aren't good with pictures and avatars, are you?

You want to question my academic background? Or my work ethic or college lifestyle? Go right ahead buddy. I think I'm more qualified than you to speak on the condition of the Aerospace program at UT.

BSAE 2008, University of Tennessee, currently employed as a Flight Test Engineer for the U.S. Navy and DoD. And I marched 4 years in the Pride of the Southland.

Go Eff yourself.

I'm glad not everyone on this board is a dumbass.

This just about sums it up:

"Joshua Dobbs blossomed as a junior at Alpharetta (Ga.) High School completing 75 percent of his passes (294 of 392) for 3,113 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also ran for 200 yards and a couple of TDs. As a senior he tossed 29 more TD passes and added 12 scores on the ground. He was named Offensive MVP for the East in the Georgia Rising Senior Bowl after passing for 237 yards, rushing for another 56 and accounting for three touchdowns in the game. Dobbs, who also drew scholarship offers for his prowess on the baseball field, was voted honorable mention all-state as a senior in football and a finalist for the Elite 11. Exceptionally bright, he has made straight As throughout high school except for one B. He plans to pursue a degree in aeronautical engineering at UT."

He is MORE INTELLIGENT THAN PEYTON,BY FAAAAAR!!!! Whether he has better skills.........????? I have no clue. I know he should be able to learn a playbook and appropriate audibles in a matter of weeks. If this kid can play.....we will have another Josh Football. I am personally very excited. The kid has my first name. He likes one of my interests, aeronautical engineering. And he is here for at least FOUR years! I say start him vs AP! GO VOLS! WELCOME TO ROCKY TOP CLASS OF 17!

?? So Mannings an idiot? Don't understand the sentiment. Why not just give this kid his props? Did I miss something?

Yeah,in marketing and P.freakin.E. You guys are smart enough to know what the h*** I mean. Aerospace engineering requires above 120 I.Q. minimum. With the skills this kid has shown....He CAN learn ANY offense in a short time. And will be as intelligent,or more, than Peyton was at being a field general. I`ll guarantee his IQ is higher than Peyton`s. Peyton was a brilliant jock. Joshua Dobbs is a brilliant AEROSPACE ENGINEER! For people with low IQs,I can see the confusion of the implications of this. For the rest of you, wow,we may have a wunderkind! GO VOLS!
