Saw a segment from Fox News talking about a pill that football players were taking that they could monitor the body temp. in their stomach to prevent heat stroke during practice. Basically it was a small themomitor that would be swallowed and they could read internal body temps. They said players were pulled if the stomach temp reached 102 degrees. They said NFL and about 20 college teams were using them. Does anybody know if we are using this type of technology ? The person they were interviewing was a coach from the Big East.

Good thing they took that in NE...you know all that heat and humidity they have up there!!
The midwest is one of the hottest regions in the country during the summer months. This comment, along with McCoy 5LB presumption concerning private school athletes, makes me question whether or not people actually think prior to posting...

Well from my experience in the summer in the midwest it is not nearly as hot as the southeast...so i am pretty sure that I thought about that before posting.

Today's projected highs:

Lincoln, NE - 90 degrees
Knoxville, TN - 89 degrees

Humidities are close to the same. You were saying?

I think I read an article at the begining of summer that stated Oregon was using something that sound simillar to that- not sure if it is the same thing.

You must not have much experience in the midwest.

Average July and August temps in the Lincoln and KC are higher than in Knoxville and Atlanta, respectively.

i work outside sales in that region; visit there quite often and I fell that compared to Memphis that it is a much more suppresive heat than in the upper midwest.

BTW - for those that need a geography lesson...while Knoxille is in the south east it does not make up the entire south east.

The Cardinals, Anheuser-Busch, Miles Davis, and the second largest Mardi Gras celebration in the Nation...worthless.
