chris low of the tenneassean has ranked our big wins under fulmer.
Where does it rank?
While the 30-27 overtime victory over LSU is easily one of the greatest comebacks in Tennessee Vols football history, it has some stiff competition when it comes to the biggest victories of the Phillip Fulmer era. The Tennessean takes a stab at the Vols' Top 10 wins since Fulmer took over full time as head coach in 1993:
1. Tennessee 23, Florida State 16 in 1998 The Vols win the Fiesta Bowl capture their first national championship in 47 years.
2. Tennessee 20, Florida 17 (OT) in 1998 Jeff Hall's clutch field goal sends the Gators and Spurrier packing.
3. Tennessee 30, Auburn 29 in 1997 Peyton Manning rallies the Vols for their first SEC title under Fulmer.
4. Tennessee 22, Georgia 3 in 1998 Despite Jamal Lewis' going down the previous week, the Vols punish the Bulldogs.
5. Tennessee 41, Alabama 14 in 1995 The Vols end their misery against the Tide and win (on the field) for the first time in this series since 1985.
6. Tennessee 34, Florida 32 in 2001 With the East crown at stake, the Vols take down one of Spurrier's best teams.
7. Tennessee 10, Miami 6 in 2003 The Vols snap the Hurricanes' 26-game winning streak at the Orange Bowl.
8. Tennessee 28, Arkansas 24 in 1998 After trailing 21-3, the Vols fight back and get a miraculous fumble to stay unbeaten.
9. Tennessee 30, LSU 27 (OT) in 2005 A comeback for the ages, as the Vols go on the road and beat No. 4 in the country.
10. Tennessee 20, Ohio State 14 in 1995 OK, it was only the Citrus Bowl, but the Buckeyes were loaded that year.
