Also i know u are from Pac 10 country and you know more about those teams so i do respect your input on them.
Can u give me some good reason why they have a chance???
I lived in Knoxville for 22 years. I've lived in Arizona for 1 year.
My job as a UT fan isn't to diminish other teams' talent, but to love my team to no extent. Cal would be a solid SEC team, but UT is better.
Cal has a chance for these reasons:
1. Cal could have just as easily been 9-2 as 7-4. They were NOT manhandled by Oregon State. They lost be 3. (yes, they should have won that game)
2. Tennessee was 5-6 last season as was absolutely terrible on offense. If Tennessee doesn't improve drastically on that side of the ball, it will negate the PAC 10's poor overall defense.
3. Cal has talent at every skill position on offense, and is CHOCKED FULL of talent on defense. There are 2 All American talent players on offense (Lynch and Forsett, though Forsett will never get the carries to actually make AA) and 4 on defense (Mebane, Bishop, Mixon, Hughes). If we put too much emphasis on stopping Mebane, Mbakogu and Tafisi will get into the backfield.
4. They return 15 starters. Although I think this stat is overrated, it still has merit. They are more experienced and mature at every position, except offensive line.
Now, CBC, I agree with you that Tennessee should and I predict they WILL win this game against Cal, maybe by more than a touchdown. However, to say Cal has no chance seems kind of over the top.
