I don't hang around the basketball boards much but I picked this up randomly while scouring another basketball board. Hadn't seen it anywhere else

Josh Selby and Three Major Programs Being Investigated by NCAA

Apparently the NCAA's investigation into improper dealings of Josh Selby has extended past Self and Kansas to include Tennessee and Kentucky as well (Initially the article also included UNC but that has been removed)

Feel free to merge if i've overlooked this article already being posted

I don't understand. Is he at UT? No. How can you get in trouble with someone unrelated to the program?

This is crap, there will be no validity to this. BP runs a clean program. Write it down.

I don't care what anybody says. When a player stays committed as long as he did, then all of a sudden changes his mind, then outside forces have become involved. Pearl did nothing wrong. In my mind UK and KU should be the only ones investigated.

I'm like you, don't hang around the basketball forum much. But UK being named doesn't surprise me. Tennessee being named surprises me. I mean Bruce "snitched" is what I have read on here, I don't see why he would give anybody any leverage on him by doing something he shouldn't?

I just wanted to share. I was born in Champaign-Urbana (right near the University of Illinois) and on one of their message boards and saw it. For most Illini fans these are 3/4 schools they love to hate the most with Indiana being the other one.

I lived my entire life in Tennessee and bleed orange (admittedly more for the football team) and wanted to see if this article had made its way here yet

Because he de-committed just after being in the same arena with Calapari( A.K.A. The Snake Oil Salesman), Lebron James and World Wide Wes. That seems mighty suspicious to me. Calapari didn't want Selby at UK because of the possibility of (maybe) an NCAA investigation.:wink2:

When Calipari won't have anything to do with you because you might get him in trouble...stay the hell away.

Yeah, Cal wants to stay in Lex. two more years, then get out. Maybe somebody can find his contract online and post it???

he's going to stay. Calipari doesn't have a chance at higher levels where he doesn't have the most talented players. Dude is a retriever, but a mediocre coach.

I think this one has to do with when he was contacted and how. That's all. Even if found "guilty" I don't think it would be anything more than a minor violation.

Who is Kent Sterling?

Another insignificant journalist looking to make a huge splash by twisting subject matter and reporting it.

The NCAA hasn't opened up a formal investigation into any school, they are simply "looking into it". If someone reported every single time this happens, there would literally not be enough paper in the world to print the volume of stories.

There is no doubt Selby is being looked at, along with every other top 50 recruit.

You are absolutely correct Hardwood. This is simply someone trying to make something out of nothing simply to get attention. UT and UK have noting to be worried about on this one. If they both cheated in regard to Selby, we need to fire the staff for not getting him.

I think he covers Indiana basketball

Again just wanted to share as VN has never seen an internet rumor it didn't like (at least on the football end)

So where does his credibility rank vs. Michael O'Brien?
