To be honest, and nothing against UCONN, I never understood why they never built or modified Gampel Pavilion to accommodate more seating.

I think it's because they're already splitting time in Hartford.

If there was a challenge to Tennessee in attendance it would come from Louisville not UConn they have about all the support they will ever get. Louisville is rapidly gaining support in the women's game and has the arena to support new fans.

Yes, Louisville and the Yum center would be the most likely candidate to challenge TN for attendance. Can't see uconn challenging for several reasons. Storrs is in a rural part of the state. The old joke goes, "it use to be called Storr, then they got another one." TV also hurts since all of their games are televised in HD, many over a nationwide cable network.

They also have lots of competition from pro sports since they are near the New York City and Boston markets. Also, the cost to attend a game is probably the highest in all of Women's basketball. Storrs is experiencing a construction boom, but I don't see uconn challenging for the attendance title, anytime soon. But they may lead in total viewership, because of TV.
