When will we have our camp or camps to bring in the juniors and have a look at prospects? I knew a kid that went to camp every Saturday in spring but I cannot remember if this was a Nike camp or college camp. Is this when our coach's will do the most offering scholarship wise? Thoughts on these camps?

Apparently no one on this site knows anything about camps. I cannot find out camp dates, schedules, or details. Maybe other schools have camps that they are willing to share info on.:unsure:

They definitely have camps, I went every year when I was little during the transition time between CJM and CFP, incidently, Randy Sanders was my favorite coach back then when he was the QB coach.

More recently, we offered a few people at our camp last year, think Schofield if memory serves correctly.

However, it isn't one of the Nike Sponsored skills camps that alot of big shots like to go to as a measuring stick.

Off topic,...but does anyone know the date of the Orange/White game? Should be interesting to get a early look.

They will be having camps. Kiffin and Orgeron both spoke about this in their conferences after NSD. They said they will be using these camps to evaluate talent for future recruits.

Adidas usually puts on a camp in June or July. I know for a fact they have for the last 3 years. Also, one of those years UT also did their own camp.

I have been to all of these.

You get to see some real players at these camps. You also get to see quiet a bit of local talent. The first year I went, I saw Byrnes out of Duncan, SC...they were awesome. This is a nationally ranked program. They then signed with Nike and could no longer attend

The ones I have been to will have several schools 15-20 or so at them. It is totally a passing camp. The teams play 6 on offense and 7 on defense. The offense does have a center, that cannot do anything but snap the ball. They play one hand touch football. They play on a 40 yard field and can get 2 first downs. There is no defensive rush and the QB has 4 seconds to throw the ball. The game lasts for 20 minutes with a running clock.

The teams will play 5 or 6 games each before lunch. After lunch they will return and be seeded according to how they did in the morning session. From here they play a single elimination tournament.

The UT coaches will roam around during the day and watch players and sometimes talk to them...they usually play at the indoor facility, the football practice fields, and the soccer complex. The way it is setup, they can play 9 games at once on these fields.

If this does not answer what you are looking for please let me know.
