I am trying to find what coach is recruiting where. if anyone has info please post.

also does anyone know if our recruiting philosophy has changed from last year in terms of areas that we are recruiting. last year we where recruiting nationally and focused alot in florida.

with this staff are we more focused on players we think have a connection to tennessee football and regional players and hitting georgia hard?

i think this staff will focus alot more in LA-TX region.

any info on terry joeseph's recruiting mind would be great

Yeah, I've been lazy and not updating it, but I will look at updating it soon. My work is having me do a bunch of things right now.

Dooley will recruit everybody and the position coaches will help recruit their positions. Other than that, these are just what I've heard. Not sure if they are exactly right.

Justin Wilcox- South Carolina, West Coast/Pacific Northwest
Jim Chaney- Tennessee, Midwest (IN/IL/OH/etc.)
Charlie Baggett- Virginia, North Carolina
Lance Thompson- Georgia, Alabama
Terry Joseph- Louisiana, Texas
Chuck Smith- Atlanta, North Carolina
Harry Hiestand- not sure. i think midwest and west coast.
Darin Hinshaw- Florida
Eric Russell- Texas
Peter Sirmon- Pacific Northwest

In relation to importance what order would the states in bold be?

Florida, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee.

As it relates to top talent every year.
Of course I think Locking down Tennessee year in and year out is a must. I hate seeing top talent go to Georgia.

Make NC #5 and I agree with you. Much like TN, the quality of football in the areas of NC with dense populations and concentrations of athletes is just starting to catch up. Western NC has long played the best football but has not had the better athletes. When good ones do come through, they're often special: Shuler, Crompton, Bryson, Gash, Brad Johnson, Pickens, Streater(s)...

FTR, I'm originally from WNC and played for one of the better programs there.

GA and FL play better HSFB. They do not have better athletes per capita than NC or VA. Both of the latter two states are beginning to play a better brand of football. I'd like to see Baggett in GA... OTOH, he will be recruiting any WR they're high on. His lack of recruiting experience makes NC/VA more logical.

UT obviously needs to snipe great players from FL, OH, TX, LA, AR, AL, MS... and further points. But the bread and butter has to be the states LV listed. That's where UT's championship talent will come from. Those areas are also the most likely to develop strong contingents of UT fans which also contributes to recruiting success.

There are more fans west of Morganton, NC that are strong fans of UT football than are fans of any instate school. If UT gets that kind of following in areas of these primary states then recruiting will follow.

They're not in our backyard but I would throw Oklahoma and Kansas in there.

We can occasionally get good talent from there.

I know it's tough to beat LSU, but Louisiana has killer talent. I'd love to see Dooley, Joseph, and Russell pull some of those kids.

If Les Miles has another tough year, that could open the door some.
