Tennessee does appear to be" snake bit " over the past few years and times have been tough , one thing that will remain is we are Tennessee. The hand wringing and negative assertions need to stop ASAP. :loco:

The media and social media have turned this search into a circus , Hart is playing things close to the vest in an attempt to minimize the rumors and speculation. Well we can see how that tact is working out. :ermm:

You are correct OP. There are a lot of good candidates out there. We just went after 3 (Gruden, Gundy and Strong) who were never going anywhere else. We gave them a look and they opted to stay comfy where they are. Let's face it, the UT job is going to be very challenging when a new coach comes in. We have a very difficult schedule, the kids are going to have to learn a new system, we don't have any speed in the secondary, the best offensive players are probably leaving and the fan base is impatient.

Hart has interviewed a lot of people in NYC this weekend and if truth be known there are probably coaches calling him asking about the UT job. It could be a matter now of sorting through everything and making the next move. Chill out people.

Who the **** wants to come to UT with a mess like this? I am more unsure of this program (including bball) than I have ever been before. Tough times ahead.

I doubt anyone is calling about the job that is worth hiring. IF anybody is calling.

1)Joker Phillips
2) Gene Cheese-nips
3) John L. Smith
4) A host of division 1 coaches with losing records
5) A bunch of FCS head coaches making $100 k a year.

I loathe a large portion of this fanbase. Most of you on here don't deserve a good coach. You get butt hurt at the least hint of criticism from outsiders but have no qualms about trashing this program and University every chance you get to anybody that will listen. So Charlie Strong turned us down so what. We are not the first school in history to be turned down by a coach or two if that's the case. The problem is some you have this sense of entitlement that is hard to understand. This is the time for everyone to stay positive even if it's not easy. If I was a coach or a recruit and read some of the stuff being said on here I will immediately cross UT off the list. We used to laugh at Alabama fans when they *****ed about every coach cause he wasn't Bear Bryant. Some in this fan base are beyond ridiculous. Obviously Dave Hart has some questions to answer but there is a time and a place for everything. Now isn't it though. We are looking for a coach to say yes and convince us that we have a great University when it should be the other way around. Stop being quitters and have some damn pride.

100% agree--the word "fan" is short for "fanatic" Everyone needs to calm down. I think part of the problem is by and large the fanbase is a little spoiled. I love how everyone wants to disparage every single coach that is whispered about on these boards. Let things play out people we'll get a good coach!
