Like it or not we are not that an intimidating team at home anymore. We are on pace to have more home losses this decade than the 70's and 80's. 1989-2001 historically will be viewed as a golden era for the Vols with 4 conference championships and national title.
For those young guys, we had the same problem winning at home from the mid 70's to early 80's. This is nothing normal. We had a good run in the 1989 through 2001. since 2002 we have been losing at the same pace like the mid 70's to mid 80's. I hope we can get that form 90's back, but it will be difficult. Be prepared.

When you chart it out like that, the stretch in the '90s is pretty amazing considering the consistently tough home schedule (generally, 4 SEC games and at least one good out of conference opponent every other year.)

The stretch between '95 and '99 is remarkable in itself. 1 home loss in 5 years, and IIRC, that was to eventual national champion Florida.

Correct you are - then a down trend in the late 50's early 60's. Then pickeed up great success late 60's to early 70's. You know where i.'m going. We are just in the down period at this time. Hopefully we can turn it around.
