I'd reconsider my allegiance to my Alma mater, too, if I wasn't paid what I should be.
Ok, how much should he have been paid? Obviously you have the expertise to evaluate how much a particular coach should be paid. So, why not enlighten us?

Maybe his allegiance to his Alma mater is not all that strong. I mean if all it takes is a bump in pay to get someone to turn their back on their Alma mater and walk away when his loyalty to the program is needed most.........just sayin.

It's a business move; not that hard to comprehend. Although it may be for you.

UT should take notes from Arkansas on how to retain a coach.

IMO, no we should not. Over paying for a guy just to keep him is not good business. Start doing that and every coach will be looking for other offers from other schools just to use it to leverage a raise every chance they get. If they know the AD/HC will just throw more cash at them, it sets us up for even bigger problems. 500 grand for an OL coach is huge money and very few are worth that unless they have another title to go along with it.

Fulmer is the last VFL to coach UT and will probably be the last. We all loved him for years and were ready to give him a pink slip at the end but he is VFL.

Arkansas was keeping their promise to CBB, and that's respectable. Is 500 too much? I think so, but the point is they did what they had to do to keep from Bama.
