Filling the spot vacated when Alec Abeln was promoted to tight ends coach.

Tennessee: Tennessee is expected to hire Utah State offensive line coach Micah James as an analyst, sources tell On3. James, a former team captain and all-conference offensive lineman at Middle Tennessee, worked under Josh Heupel as a GA at UCF in 2018.

James has spent the last two seasons with Utah State and his been in college coaching for 8 seasons. In 2021, James helped Utah State to a school record 11 wins.

James came to Utah State after spending two years (2019-20) as the co-offensive line coach at Massachusetts. He has also served as an offensive graduate assistant at UCF (2018) under Heupel and Maryland (2017), was the run game coordinator and offensive line coach at Faulkner University (2016) and spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Arkansas State (2014-15).

James played his college football at MTSU. In his senior season in 2012, James’ OL coach was current Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee.

Another solid young coach added to our Tennessee Coaches Training Program to get them ready to move on up when openings are available.

Nice to have a great HC that teaches and trains players and coaches to be ready to move up when needed.

VFL...GBO!!!.
Another strength of JH. I wonder what the pay difference is? Surely an on field coach makes more than an analyst, of course the future as a Heuple tree coach might be brighter.
