offer kirby, and get rid of cheek, makes it too hard to get in, some kids have no support academically, and given structure most people thrive

Charlie Strong played it out to get more big bucks from Louisville. I don't know if Fedora got more bucks from NC, but its a sad state of affairs when UT can't steal a coach from these two 2nd rate programs! I'm sure Hart wants a coach in the worst way. If he hires Butch (Probation Boy) Davis, he'll get exactly that. If he can get Kirby Smart it'll be a friggin' miracle!

If we have to use the website below to learn about the head coach Hart has hired.....we are in for a huge amount of trouble....because that is how I had to learn about Derek Dooley.

Does anybody know if Charlie Strong left his tube of KY with Hart or did we just get a good ole dry screwing. Sad part is this was just the beginning of the problems ahead. When we finally sign a coach, most UT fans are going to probably ask the question....Who the Hell is that!!!

The only HC I had ever heard of that we hired over the past 30 years was Johnny Majors. If you live in Tennessee and went to Tennessee, you are kind of required to know who Johnny Majors is. Technically, Phil Fulmer was promoted to HC because he was already on the staff. So, I will be surprised if the new HC is somebody with whom I am familiar from anywhere other than the Volnation Forum.

Why not Jim Tressel? If the NCAA hits UT with the show clause, what's the worst that will happen? We will be ineligible for a bowl game? Well we haven't been in a couple years anyway and what are our chances of making a legitimate bowl game next year anyway?

Tressel would make UT relevant in a couple years. And just think he could walk into players homes and say "I can get everyone free Beats by Dre Headphones and Tattoos". What else do 18 year old kids want!:clapping:

We've been Humbled for years now, but now we've been Humbly Humiliated.......UT hasn't done a good job of taking care of itself....has it? The University can't blame anyone but itself.......fans have been very patient for many years now......UT is depressed and may commit the ultimate sacrifice

I don't know why UT can't get a coach it's crazy. Is their a secret agreement among coaches since fulmer was fired the way he was that no other good coaches would come to UT or what. Is it they are scared of the competition or Saban somebody Pls enlighten me on the problem.

I'd vote for putting Fulmer back on the sideline just to right the ship again, to bring back some since of nomal to the program with everyone involved knowing up front that this would just be for a peroid of time till a good hire could be put into place........this train wreck has got to slow down.

Where did all the "WE ARE TENNESSEE" posters go....LOL

For you "fans" that just don't get it it ain't all about football, it's about a state with a storied history steeped in rich traditions to numerous to mention.
Yes we are Tennessee and it is a special place. Many posters on here know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. :twocents:

Everyone making the case for Fulmer seems to be citing the Kansas State situation and making the leap to say it could work here too, but they are ignoring one enormous difference. Snyder RETIRED and was adored by everyone in Manhatten, KS whehe left. Fulmer was FIRED, and most agreed with the decision to let him go. Snyder still had most of his fanbase intact, Fulmer will bring alot, and I mean ALOT of divisiveness in our fanbase. I say no way this should happen.

Fans have been patient how silly. They have called coaches and players every name in the book. Wanted coaches fired. Do not go to games demand people not go to show their power. So fans do get some of the blame where you like it or not.

Bringing Fulmer back would be the very definition of a panic hire and that is the last thing we need.

Snyder 'stepped down' after going 5-6 in his last season and after having a couple of bad seasons. Same as Phil except Phil had a better record when you compare their final seasons and was a better overall coach.

That USA Today article makes me sick. I say FU to Strong and FU to Gundy, and I hope the next REAL coach with the balls to take a tough F-ing job makes those two green with envy!

Nobody will keep us down forever. While they don't always make sense, things happen for a reason. Look at our good buddies at Bama. THEIR 3RD CHOICE FOR HC WAS SABAN. Before hiring him, they got rejected by the HC of WAKE FOREST. Go figure.

All I can say is that all this crap, pain and total humiliating disrespect will make me appreciate winning again like nobody's business.

GBO.

Is "Jim Chavis" Chief's brother? We can probably get him.
