Marta only played 12:50, tenth on the team, of the 11 players who got minutes.
In that 12:50, she took 10 fga's and made 4.
She had 3 fouls, 4 turnovers and was a -15.
Admittedly, it's difficult to get into any kind of rhythm playing sporadic minutes.

I'm glad to see Mercedes doing well in the WNBA. I figured she would catch on as a backup but has done very well starting this year for the Storm. I was always one of those who thought her UT career was very good, just not great and not to the expectations that were set for her. Whether it was injury, coaching, attitude, or some combination that kept the ceiling low, I'm glad to see she's showing her skills professionally.

Free day over at the Summit on 247 if anybody wants to read what they have there. Not much more than what we already know, but did say Tennessee might have a couple players on the radar that isn't on any offer list. Some good reading for a little different information than you might already have.

Great talk. I hope Collier from TX do well too. She's not even playing at all. Maybe 3mts. She needs to keep positive and keep on fighting.

Agree, I thought she was too timid in the paint during her UT career and would not be anything more than a back up the WNBA. Good for her and glad I was wrong.

Also, Marta should be better this coming season but has some improvements to make to be a starter if the newcomers live up to the hype. But think she will be a good solid player whatever her role becomes.

No should start getting some info on players. They have been home for two weeks just back to Knoxville for start on next semester. I think information on what players are doing from here to the start of the season should start coming in more often.

One thing I heard about a player before they went home was that Wynn is the fastest player on the team running the court and that she has been the freshman quickest to catch on in practice although the others are doing quite well also.

With those two attributes and if she is as hard-working as it seems, maybe we have a Tiffany Mitchell type player in our midst. Mitchell was ranked pretty low coming out of high school, had all the tools and hard work made them pay off. I am hoping that is the case with Kaiya Wynn!
