UGA defensive end Charles Johnson was named SEC lineman twice this year, including last week against Ole Miss .He had two sacks, two third down stops,a pass deflection. He appears to be as dominant a player as (pot head) Marcus Thomas of the Gators.

He has been a force. When you have Quinton Moses and him on the ends the OC has to scheme to try and elimate one or both by double teaming or having a RB or FB blocking or chipping them to try and slow them down. This tends to open up opportunities elsewhere on the line.

i don't think there's any doubt that UGA's D line is as talented a D line as there is in the SEC...they just haven't played like it as a group consistently.

Georgia's D as a whole, may be better than Florida's, strictly from a personnel standpoint....

It may be splitting hairs, but I think FL's DTs and 2 LBs might be a little better -- and maybe depth. But GA's DEs look like they may be the class of the country.

I still maintain that we made FL's D-line look a slight bit better than they are...just a tad. When people block the wrong guy -- or don't block anyone -- it makes them look really good. But I hope Eric Young is ready to play the game of his life.

i think the difference comes in with UGA's secondary...Tre Battle and those guys are pretty good.

the front seven for both are very good...and i'd give the edge in LB's to UF...the D line is a push like you said, one on the outside is better, and one on the inside is better...

either way, i expect similar difficulties in running the ball against UGA. they won't have to bring help up to the line to stop us...which will make taking advantage of one on one situations key...cause they probably won't happen that often.

Agreed. Running it will be tough. But Ole Miss ran on them some. Even if we have to be a little hard headed and run for 75 yards, some semblance of a ground threat will be important.

But we are going to have to be pass first run second, regardless. Which I think is fine; CPF seems to think that isn't as good sometimes. But the NFL, where the teams are pretty even, have to scheme it up pretty good and balance it out to move the ball. It's stupid to assume that you can just run over people most of the time.
