Make that 5. I think they are also playing Baylor and South Carolina.

Geno clearly is confident in his team, or he hates them. That is a "Death's Row" OOC schedule!

he has too schedule hard cause even tho they have moved back to the Big East they still are not strong. Maybe one other team Depaul that's it..

There's hard and then there's crazy. That's the ACC, B12, SEC champs, plus MSST...4 top ten teams in a shortened OOC.

A trait he undoubtedly picked up from our very own Pat Summitt who started that trend! It has been well documented that her coaches would ask her what was wrong with her when scheduling games 😂

RIH Pat you are missed 🧡

I loved that when Pat was the coach. She was willing to play anyone, anywhere and her OOC schedule looked like she was punishing her team I wish more coaches did that. Kim, Vic and Brenda are three coaches that come to mind who schedule somewhat pitifully weak OOC schedules. I hope Kellie reverses Holly's tendency to schedule way below the team's weight class.

According to ESPN the entire women’s division of the tournament was canceled. Not sure if that’s why we aren’t doing it or if they canceled because teams backed out.

You forgot Marquette. I'm not sure we could beat them or DePaul this year.
Auriemma doesn't seem to believe in Holly's theory of "Feed me a few more cupcakes."

Marquette is a solid team as is St. John’s.

The Big a East conference’s RPI has been just outside the top 5.

I would bet that if you added 2 games to each team against UConn plus adding in UConn at the top of the conference, the Big East RPI would jump above a few of the Power-5 conference’s RPI.

And UT wants us to buy season tickets before knowing the schedule.
There is a gonna be a schedule that then needs to be finalized before being released.....with all this covid mess I understand there are some apprehensions about purchasing tickets but im 100% sure we will see a schedule in the coming weeks!

Schools back then weren't as restricted on out-of-conference travel like teams are now. Even at the SEC level, you have programs that are only allowed to fly once or twice in non-conference. Others have a minimum number of home games that they must have for ticket sales purposes.

Tennessee used to be able to get home games from whoever they wanted because they could guarantee a TV game, and that would be one of a very few TV appearances for most schools. Now everyone has a TV package.
