why do we go all over the world giving scolarships to kids who could give a frazel about Tennessee or UT fans... These players we have now are disgusting to watch.. I find it difficult to be a fan of UT basketball.

Coming in 2014:

Bruce Pearl HC of 10 players from Bearden, Fulton, Harden Valley, and Oak Ridge.

Pearl's last years were undisciplined and played with no heart. That's why we quit pressing at the end of Pearl's reign because players didn't play hard. Hopson is case and point.

His last year. Team played with no heart.

I believe it was more the looming NCAA sanctions that killed that season. The writing was on the wall, Pearl didn't even coach several games. If you recall we started off that year winning against Pittsburgh and Villanova who were both ranked in the Top 10(in convincing fashion).

But yeah, for some reason Pearl was never able to recruit for his system.

Been a faithful follower since 1977 (Bert & Ernie) and honestly I'm very excited about what I'm seeing this year and what's coming. Haters gonna hate.........

I think you are having trouble with the concept of being a fan. Players that seem to worry about the fans are usually just feeding their ego.

:hi::hi: I will agree with this,, but what have you got against giving scholarships to kids from Tennessee H/Schools... They can play with any of these kids we have now...Don't you think the Tenessee kid would love to be shining in a UT uniform.

:good!:

As always there will be those who say hateful things of Conzo or the players after a loss, be it 5pts or 15pts. Everyone who wants to say ANYTHING negative MUST FIRST have the thought of Maymons absences and what would happen to these point margins if he were able to even come half speed.

IMO Conzo would have this team in the top 25 with Maymon... Its not like football where you have multiple top flight players in the same position that can fill in well and gel and know the offense(no playing both sides of the ball btw). We lost the difference in every game when we lost Maymon...period.

Now we have a some younger players trying to get better on the fly and play ball against elite SEC talent. We are above 500 and I am not settling however I can see this team getting better. I can see them pulling out a season close to last year and maybe even pull something special in the SEC tourney. We are doing better than our fate would have us do with our personnel losses and late starts...

We get the best players from Tennessee that will commit. You can't force them to sign with UT.

I don't think Martin has had the chance to offer any East TN kids. He got Hubbs from Dyer County. But East TN is not known for its basketball. I don't care where they come from as long as they can play.
