After last night's win, Tennessee is now ranked #12 in Sagarin and #10 using the "Recent" rating. Pretty, pretty good!

We've now won 7 out of 8 after getting blown out by Kentucky (and the 1-loss was by 1-point on the road to Texas). That said, the next few weeks are going to be a huge test with Kentucky and Auburn coming up, plus 2 games against Arkansas. We're likely in the tournament regardless, but a win over either Kentucky or Auburn would really send a message that we could be a legit threat this year.

Here's the Sagarin ratings for all of the SEC:

Would love to see a win either way, but it doesn't seem that Washington will miss the game. I guess we'll see.
Calipari was quoted in an article saying that it is currently day-by-day but he could also be out a week or so. But they aren’t for sure yet. Washington hurt one of his ankles earlier in the season and missed the next game so they might hold him out or they might let him play and restrict his minutes a little.

Yeah the actually poll rankings in basketball suck. We should be a lot higher. I am looking at some overrated B1G teams like Wisconsin and wondering why they are even ahead of us. Arkansas should have been ranked a while back also.

Great to see. We've got a pretty steep back end load, but if we can manage to at minimum be 3-3 or 4-2 for last 6, I'd say we'll pull at least a 4 seed in the dance. Would love to see a W vs KY or Aub. Ark no slouch...tall task to beat them twice in such a short turn. I think it's actually good to see a hard run right before tourney time. If we were able to pull of a 5-1/6-0 run, then I'd think a bubble 2 seed or certainly 3 seed is doable.

I think he will play. Because this is most likely for the #2 seed in the SEC tourney

I think it will be how the game is playing out if it's close, he will play. If they are hitting everything like at Rupp with a decent lead around 10+ Calipari will let him rest JMO.

5-1 6-0? Wow. Auburn's a Loss, as is Arkansas on the road. Then there's the hottest team in the league; Kentucky. AT TBA, Vols have a shot. Won't be surprised with another L though. Just looking at it through a clear lens.

Do you feel more optimistic playing Kentucky this time? Seems like the Vols have gotten a lot better since they met up in Lexington.

Definitely. We very well might lose, but I can’t imagine it will be a repeat of what happened in Rupp. I think we’ll play well, I just hope it’s well enough.

I like this one
2021-2022 NCAA Tourney Predictive Model - 02/13/2022 Update - Aike's Tourney Predictor

This is kind of interesting. It has nothing to do with predicting regular season games. It's entirely tournament-focused. Which teams have profiles that are most predictive of tournament success.

We fixin' to whip some ass!
I’m surprised that UK wasn’t in the top 5, but I guess it could be depth or related to injuries.

Reading more in the about section, it looks like technically it’s predicting a Sweet 16 with a good chance for Elite 8.
