Two questions hat. Shouldn't this thread be in the Basketball Forum? Why would you even start this thread after the way you have bashed Selby the last few months?

I see it in the Basketball forum.

Just bc Hat does not care for the kid does not mean he will not spread the TN scoop around.

I wasn't dogging hat, I just found it ironic as will many others. I for one appreciate the info, always gald to know the latest.

Great news we're meeting with Selby! However, I believe he's too far gone and receiving too much attention from premier tier 1 basketball programs now (i.e. UConn, Kansas, Kentucky) :no: ...Hope I'm wrong though!

Hat, do you have the wrong UT by any chance? On TOS it has been mentioned that he is visiting Texas (also known as UT) on that date.

You're correct. The updated article at zags about his in home visits now lists Texas on September 11th and says the dates for in homes for Tennessee and Syracuse are TBA.

I wouldn't read too much into that. He knew our staff well enough to commit initially, so I'm not sure our in home would be as important as the visits for the schools that are coming to the party late.

I see. So what do you think our chances are of landing Selby OR Jackson?

And what do you think of Golden potentially being the starting PG as a freshman?

1. I'll be shocked if either of them sign with Tennessee.
2. I like that better than Melvin Goins being the primary option at that position.

I don't really follow basketball recruiting. I know he committed and then de-committed.

Now for a couple of, probably dumb, questions:

How good is Selby?

What does it mean for the program if we can land him or if we miss out on him?

I have serious reservations about his attitude, but there's no doubt Selby is a top flight prospect.

Getting him means UT will have beaten some of the elite programs in America to get a player who projects to be a sure fire pro. Losing him means Tennessee will have been unable to hold on to a committed prospect once the big boys came calling.

Did we beat any top notch programs for Hopson? Wasn't he a really highly rated prospect?

I guess I could check Rivals and get the answer to this :)

I did look up Hopson, 5*. We beat KY, Cin, Louisville, Miss St, and TX. I guess he was the first step in what we expected to continue and not just be a one time deal. I guess for Pearl to play for champioships we need players like this.

Question 1: Selby is very good.
Question 2: It means we wear adidas and not Nike.
