Tennessee used a strong start by sophomore Zach Warren and a towering two-run homer by senior Vincent Jackson to jump ahead of Memphis early on Sunday, holding on for a 5-2 win in the series final at AT&T Field.

Good. 2-1 start to the season. Let's hope for a better Vols baseball team this season. They look like a better team already.

A Sweep would have been great but taking the series isn't too bad. Would be nice to make the Regionals this year

A sweep would have been great, but with this team, I'll take a series win every single damned day. As for the regionals, I'll believe it when I see it. This is a make or break year for me with DS. It's time we see some serious progress.

American Conference has some traditionally strong teams in East Carolina, Tulane, Houston with occasional strong performances by UCF, USF, Cincinnati and Memphis.

I think they're better now CUSA who really has a strong Rice program as the standard bearer with occasionally good teams from FAU, FIU. WKU and MTSU.

I think the Big South is a solid #5 but really close to CUSA and American.

(1) SEC
(2) ACC
(3) American
(4) CUSA
(5) Big South.

4 out of 8 American Conf teams earned NCAA bids last year with Houston hosting. I believe their conference RPI was unbelievably high like #3 or #4 or something.

I believe the coaches picked Memphis to finish 7th in conference
