Mike Griffith on sports talk this morning said that Tennessee should win this game! I am surprised considering he gave the Vols no chance against Texas or Florida.

Nevertheless, I also think that Tennessee should win this game. Talent wise, I think that the Vols are equal. Miss State has had a few problems in their program recently with the dismissal of 2 players.

This game will probably be another dog fight though.

He said they "should" win this game but when asked for his prediction he said he was 50/50 and he thought this was a very dangerous game.

That's kind of a lame prediction on his part. Any road college basketball game is dangerous regardless of who you are playing. That's like predicting wet grass after a rain storm.

I hate no TV for these stupid road games! Oh well... make a good run for a couple of years and that will come.

UK could play @Whothehellare U. and still have a TV spot.

I think UT wins by 10......No emotional let down after we took out the gators....That was a big win and I think that will have our boys even more motivated to go out and kick some tail end

Vols - 75

State - 68

BTW,

Does anyone agree with the following summary:

In order for VOLS to win:

Lofton or Watson must play/shoot well in every game. Patterson's agressiveness in the Florida game would be a nice addition for games against KY and Vandy. Asumnu and Wingate have faded as of late and should be given minutes accordingly.

We don't have anyone to give Wingate's minutes to.

I understand, but the frustration inside me builds. At the onset, he seemed to be with it...the FL game he reminded me of Crump :banghead: who had the worst butterfingers in the SEC. The day of the game or before the game, KNS had an article where Wingate was talking about FLA's Noah and said something to the effect of... he was a little point guard that gave us towels and now he's grown a few inches... I'm not trying to snub Wingate, I'm glad we have his size, but Noah outplayed him last week...

Not sure why Wingate is talking so much, he made a comment about MSU that was bulletin board material.

I really hope these guys are able to keep their heads on straight. After a night like we had against Florida, we're ripe to come out flat against MSU.

I agree...he should just stick to the game. From what I have heard, he is supposedly a very athletic person. Show it on the court, not in the newspaper.

Like I posted in another thread...we go to Rupp in less than 2 weeks, we need to keep winning and go in there ready to play. They play FL the game prior to us. They will be fired up win or lose.

We need a big win to give Jamont Gordon a big f-u.

Didn't Gordon say he thought he would have a better chance at winning at MSU than at UT? :eek:lol:

Miss St. is a pretty good rebounding team. That's about it. They're #2 in the SEC in offensive rebounding with 39.6%, but they're #9 in defensive rebounding with 34.6 %...

Tennessee is 10th in the SEC with 33.5% in offensive and 12th in defensive rebounding with 37.3%.

But like Coach Pearl says, the turnovers make up for the lack of rebounding. When you look at the turnover stats, the rebounding doesn't hurt so much.

The turnover margins are:

UT - +8.07 (1st in the SEC)
Miss St. - -3.22 (last in the SEC)

The assist to turnover ratio is:

UT - 1.44 (1st SEC)
MS - .55 (last in the SEC)

As far as the assists, steals and free throws %:

Tennessee is getting 17.80 assists compared to State's 10.06

Tennessee is getting 11.00 steals to State's 6.33

and .688% free throws to State's .659....
