I love great defense so that 2003 Miami game was special!

Four quarter of grinding, the best punt ever, and Kellen Winslow II going off with his "I'm a [expletive] soldier" rant.

I can't help but think the General got misty-eyed up in heaven.

I love watching Fulmer show some fire. I miss that so much and it was sad to see him lose his edge, but as they say all great things come to and end.

Winslow is the prime example of what not to become when you are a very good player. I'm glad he loves his U but he made himself look like a total buffoon. He went pro and did the same thing. No one wanted him in their locker room and a few knee injuries later he's out of the league pretty much.

After that rant the NFL didn't need a Wonderlic Test; they had all the info they needed.

It is, indeed, appropiate that two of Tennessee's greatest defensive performances were against that rogue, outlaw program that likes to think of themselves as the "U."

I'll never forget that little Kellen Winslow Junior rant. What a Big ole baby. He really showed his tail and his true self that day. "I don't care bout no volunteers!" I believe is what he said, Through his tears!!!

I'll never forget the 2001 Florida game. Travis Stephens put the offense on his back and carried Tennessee to the win.

Given the caliber of the opponent, Travis' performance in the '01 Florida game may have been the single most impressive performance by a Tennessee running back in my memory, which encompasses 45 years of Big Orange football.

Pretty good list, even if it is "Bleacher Report".

I personally witnessed the '82 Bama game and the '85 Auburn game. The others I saw on the tube.

I'd out the national championship game number one by default and then the Auburn game. Like some of the Bleacher Reports lists. This one was as good as any.

Well said!

I thought the 2003 Miami game was his crowning achievement; all honor to his name!

I am going to slick my hair back with some Butch-wax an get me a flat top (Doug Dickey style).

The Grinder mentality is back!

If it's performances, then I would have to take a look at the 2002 Citrus Bowl. The SECCG and lost NC opportunity spoiled this somewhat. But, that was one one of the most dominating performances that I ever saw by the Vols. 1992 UF smackdown could fall in their too.

Excellent point about the 2001 team and its dominating Citrus Bowl victory. Very few teams can lay claim to beating Alabama (35-24), Notre Dame (28-18), Florida (34-32) and Michigan (45-17) in the same year. Are you thinking, however, of the '92 victory (31-14) over Florida in the monsoon or the '90 game in which we annihilated the Lizards 45-3, after reeling off 38 unanswered points in the second half. The latter game was far more impressive in my book.

Chuck Webb's 290 somewhat yards rushing against Ole Miss in 1989 I believe.....

I know that Chuck eclipsed Travis' performance statistically against Ole Miss and, perhaps, Arkansas also in the Cotton Bowl but I couched that statement within the context of the caliber of competition they faced. Arkansas and Ole Miss weren't ranked nearly as highly as Florida in '01, nor were they prohibitive favorites over us as the Lizards were in the game dominated by Travis.

The citrus bowl win over Michigan was impressive and add the fact the team did not just lay down after being knocked out of the national title game

Here's hoping to us adding a few more memorable wins to the list over the next couple years (for starters)

If stinkin Lincoln hadn't missed 3 field goals against Bama in 09, that would've been #1 SEC upset by far. Unranked UT vs #1 eventual NC winners Bama.
