That game was great. It marked the point when I really started following the Vols hardcore.

B) a great game. we were 17th and the Dawgs were 3rd and we were not given a chance in hell

I was at that game...and I really believe if they can get that kind of fire into them again, we will have a great season. NO ONE expected us to win. We were supposed to have been stomped BAD. However, we came out with a fire (the one missing all last year) and held on for the win.

I was SO GLAD to not have to sit and hear the victory bells. :dance2:

David Pollack...never did like that POS...

The week before we got beat by Auburn and UGA destroyed LSU...therefore we were supposed to get our butts handed to us.

Didn't happen.

Honestly, it might be my most proud Tennessee moment (maybe even higher than the 98 Title game). Why? Because I have never ever seen a Tennessee team that was supposedly more outmanned, less talented, and more of a dog on the road. What did we do? We controlled the line of scrimmage, came into THEIR house as a huge dog, and whipped the dawgs.

Of course, we didn't win by a ton, but we didn't have to. We proved to the nation what Tennessee was about. That was probably the last game I've seen that, to be honest.

We would have won more convincingly if Wilhoit could have kicked the ball between the posts that day..

Haha YES! I remember that better now. Georgia had a chance at the end, but no victory!

In all fairness to Wilhoit, he missed from 40, 49 and 51 yards and made 2 from 35 and 51. He should have had the 40 yarder, but the other two are tough kicks.
