Tennessee vs Kentucky Film Study: JOE MILTON shuts me up!

This is a great breakdown of genius play calling from CJH and exquisite QB play from Joe. I certainly wasn't able to appreciate the things brough up in this video while watching the game live. I think I heard somewhere that Milton had been playing with some undisclosed injuries prior to this game. If that was the case, a healthy Joe Milton is hell on wheels. We all know he has the arm. This video illustrates his incredible decision making. This is a must watch (especially if you're still worried about Joe going forward).

That was so outstanding! Excellent film study and assessment. I will moan and pout and bitch and moan some more during the games but, hey....that is the nature of the ebbs and flow of the game. We are blessed with CJH, Milton, our running backs and some amazing defensive backs and linemen who together with the linebacking corps has the Vols playing really good ball. Florida was a, forgive me up front, freak loss. I would like to see a film study totally directed at counting the holds, penalties, bad calls, etc. Basically a performance assessment of the officiating. And then send that to the SEC and NCAA offices as well as all the other SEC teams. This is not going to get better to ALL the teams believe they will gain from fair and reasonable, accurate and complete officiating. I'm up for watching that film study as well. Again...thank you!

I watched this earlier this week. It's a great study. Presents the blocking schemes clearly complimenting the O-line. Love the camera angle showing Milton directing Thornton on the scramble and throw. Really solidified in my mind what a strong win Saturday night was.

I’m hoping to type “Y” the rest of the season
Impressive analysis

I’m not sure why he thought Wright’s TD was power instead of trap. RT blocked “down” to the LB, but really he skipped the LB entirely, the DE took himself out of the play, and the LB got blocked in the “trap”! We got a two for one with the DE over pursuing on that one.

Among many other positives, many of them centered on Joe, I really liked seeing Castles pancake that linebacker on Sampson’s TD run.

It is also a nice refutation to all the comments about how, being a sixth year QB, you have already seen everything you are going to get with Joe. He is obviously still learning and growing in his knowledge and decision making

I've been saying it all year. Milton is not the problem. Now that the OL is somewhat stable and the WR's have stopped dropping easy catches everyone can see that Joe ain't bad. I just hope we stay healthy for the rest of the year. We are woefully thin at OL and WR though so it wouldn't take much to throw us off. The first half of the season we were trying to get the offense healthy and now we are struggling to keep the defense healthy. Building depth is tough.

Yep, just wish it had happened sooner, BUT with UT's OL Issues (Mays in particular) and really thin depth, I guess Joe gets a pass. He dang sure threw that ball vs UK. Hooker had better receivers and Oline; WRIGHT was a beast.
