You don't need a statistical breakdown. Like you said, just look at the schedule . . . .Western Kentucky, UAB, Ole Miss, South Carolina (when they were really struggling), winless Colorado . . .

but here we are thinking we put up these big points on a tough defense, when in reality we really don't know how good they were, but we do know they sucked bad on Saturday night.

Georgia's defense is not as bad as it looked Sat - and not as good as it looked versus the first 5 patsies they played. The truth lies somewhere in between.

The real truth is, our offense is pretty good right now.

They were not as good as advertised . . . but they also got outschemed in a bad, bad way. Dare I say . . . we completely outcoached them.

A couple of the UT TD drives started deep inside Georgia territory as well, which also aided in the scoring.

If anything though, it only sped up the inevitable. They really weren't stopping the Vols, at all.

Should I dig out my thread from last week and go with the "I told you so", or should I just assume that those of you that didn't agree with me, know better now?

Then there was Richt.....with that white sweater underneath the black Georgia pullover. The G centered perfectly under his chin....his tan and skin tone being very even. Always taking pains to take the Tom Cruise advice of...''anytime something happens act as if it was exactly what you expected'' He looked better losing than most coaches look winning, was that his intent??? If so I'm glad his strategy worked out.

GAVol, I completely agree with you. Props to Fulmer & Co, particularly the offensive side. Defensively, I think we got had a good bit.

GA's soft zone just got picked apart. Our scheme allowed us to have to some balance in the run game as well. 115 yards rushing wasn't too bad with what we're doing right now.

Martinez doesn't look nearly as good as Van Gorder, IMO.

my take is that UGA having not really played any real offensive teams, probably didn't have a good idea themselves of what to expect when really tested.

Think about it...they didn't have any reall good film of themselves against a good offense...it had to be somewhat difficult to self scout...how did they know what their weaknesses would be? Only way is take the test and see if you pass/fail....they were taking 2nd grade spelling tests trying to prep for a Geometry Test...

I think now, they know, and they'll get better. I will be interested to see how UGA does the rest of the season against Florida, Auburn and Ga Tech. If they give up lots of points in those three games, you can call them over rated.

Personally, i still think they will get better and you won't see that kind of performance again.

Add to that the changes we made in our offense in the Memphis game, and they had a lot to prepare for...if richt is as good a coach as we all think he is, they'll get it corrected and you'll see a much better effort...kind of like how we've done offensively since the Florida game.

Incidentally, if we're wondering how good W VA is, they beat LAST YEAR's GA SEC championship team and defense for about 42 points.

After seeing them and knowing a little bit about Rodriguez, me thinks they are probably pretty stout.

We were lining up in some very interesting (for UT) formations and running plays and routes in less-than-conventional terms. There were a lot of 5 wide/empty backfield formations that ended up getting the ball to a man underneath the deeper zone coverage. Smith having a great game in the middle of the field was huge, and Meach/Swain ought to reap real rewards later in the year.

Teams can double up on Meach/Swain whitch leaves Smith wide open and whin they go to zone all will be wide open. I look for some realley big numbers it would not supprise me if we hung 50 on the Bammers as well.
