Last year I undertook to read the entire multi-volume set of Samuel Eliot Morison's classic HISTORY OF U.S. Naval Operations in World War II. Buried in The Battle of the Atlantic: September 1939 - 1943 I found the story of the USS Borie and her epic fight against a German U-Boat in October, 1943. Simply put it is one of the most breathtaking sea stories I have ever read. I have posted my account of that fight over in The Pub.
Grab a cuppa Joe, put your feet up, hie thee over and give it a read.

We will return to our regularly scheduled silliness next week after Steve Spurrier brings his flock of poultry into Neyland Stadium to take on Butch Jones' pack of hound dogs. (h/t Leonard Postoasties)
