in your opinion who is our most hated rival? out of these 4

1) Florida(HATE THEM W/ A PASSION!!!)

2) Alabama

3) Georgia(dont kno if they r actually a rival)

4) South Carolina

for me, i hate florida with a burning passion. but in general, bama is still the team that is considered tennessee's biggest rival. georgia has been up and coming in the last 5 or 6 years but i still dont hate them like bama and the gators. south carolina isn't really considered a rival in my book either. i hate vandy more than both georgia and s carolina.

I hate every team that is playing against my beloved Vols but Florida holds a special place in the hottest part of hades ( not sure on the spelling of that but you get the idea)

I believe our opponent during "rivalry week" is Kentucky. We played for the old beer barrel, until those boys on the KY team were killed in a drunk driving accident. Unfortunately they haven't put much of a fight in most of our lifetimes.

As for the others mentioned, they all have other traditional rivals (FSU, Auburn, GT, and Clemson).

Bammer by far.... well actually no one else is a rival to me. Florida means no more to me than Mississippi State.

No doubt the Vols' biggest rival is Bama, but it's going to take a few wins by the Cats to restore the rivalry.

Well Alabama plays Auburn rivalry week, similar to Florida playing Florida State. Doesn't matter so much to me because both will continue to stand in the shadow of Ohio State and Michigan.

Bama hands down. I hate LSU more than most of the teams on the list, but they are not a "rival." Rivalry is different than hate. We have played Alabama since the dawn of time. And by the dawn of time, I mean 1901. :rock: BEAT BAMA!

I lived in Bama and I have talked to more Bammers than I cared too. Even they agree that the Bama - UT rivalry is bigger than Auburn - Bama.

I suspect most of the young Vol fans i.e. <25 think that UF is a bigger rivalry based on Spurriers success. For those of us who are older we KNOW that the 3rd Saturday in October is the real day of reconing.


Edit: I've said this before and I'll say it again. I would take five Gator losses to one Alabama Loss. I hate them that much.

PS- you guys need to go to the "plays of Fulmer era" poll at utsports.com and vote for the '95 Peyton to Joey Kent play: 80 yard touchdown the first play from scrimmage. The youngsters have Wilhoit's kick to beat UF in '04 in the lead.

That was a great kick, but Peyton and Joey erased 12 years of frustration in about 10 seconds on that play.

1. Florida: whoever wins it is in the driver's seat for the East and it's just Florida.

2. Alabama: It's always been a huge oppent and since Fulmer ratted them out, that has just thrown fuel on the fire.

3. Georgia: They've had our number here and there, plus whenever we lose to UF we have to beat UGA to stay in the race for the East.

Defintely think through history Bama.

However in the last ten years its gotta be SEC East:
1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. Bama

I'm 48 years old and Bama has always been our biggest rivalry ever since I can remember. Tennessee-Bama game is the first I can remember seeing on tv. My dad was a Auburn fan and he always cheered for TN on the third Saturday.
