“It’s a great challenge,” said coach Butch Jones, who is coming off his first win over a ranked opponent at UT. “

Jones also said the decision to not start left guard Alex Bullard on Saturday was both injury and discipline related.

what was the discipline reason ? anybody know ?

What is sad that if they don't beat Bama 60-0 then people on here will be down on Butch again.

Heh.... Herbstreit just put Bama on upset watch.

Yeah I just saw that. Wouldn't be surprised if this game is as close as people were saying the Oregon game was suppose to be. I could see this being a 17-13 game.

Guys lets get back to reality here. This one won't be close. They are just a completely different level than most of the schools out there. IMO we can hang with anyone in the country except for a select 3 or 4, and Bama is the best of those select 3 or 4.

We're not long off. South Carolina was just the beginning. We will be upsetting very highly ranked teams in the next few years, but right now we need to believe that 8-4 can happen and hope to walk away injury free this Saturday to help our chances of that happening.

IN a few years, I am hoping they are not upsets ... but rather the norm!

And I could see it being a blowout, sad to say.

Folks, we've made progress, but in the real world, progress is two steps forwards and one step back, and occasionally one step forwards, two back, and then three forward. I'm thrilled about the great changes I've seen, but football players are human beings, not machines. It takes a while to get to consistently good play.

So yes, I'll be glued to the set, and I'd be sky-high if we won, but it would be as much from surprise as from happiness. We're growing. We're not yet grown.

I agree that we just need to survive this one. Just get it past us, hopefully put up a good fight, etc.

At the same time...ANYTHING can happen. Don't underestimate how soft bammers schedule has been compared to ours. This team is ready to bring war to them for four quarters.

One thing I know...I am looking forward to it. Under Dooley I would be cringing under my couch come Saturday. With Butch we have a chance, however small.
