According to Evan Daniels he signed a financial aid letter...still hope for me, lol.

Seriously though, this is a joke. I'm not happy at all...

Yea it probably won't stick since Cal is headed to Chicago... hopefully...

It is beginning to get a bit ridiculous though. Especially since Jones announced for Washington a few weeks ago.

Details?

He'll probably only play the middle man anyway.
The only way Gar Forman is involved in hiring John Calipari is if Jerry Reinsdorf tells him he has to do so. Otherwise, he'll choose any of about 1,000 guys he'd have ahead of John on his list.

So it goes. Would have liked to see him stay in the area, but so it goes.

And for the record, he only made the verbal to UDub before because he thought it would alleviate some of the pressure on him.

Smart choice by the kid. No its not bias, its the truth.

Somewhere in Lexington Josh Harrelson can be heard banging his head against the wall in anguish.

He's likely a one-and-done type talent, I don't think it would have mattered much in the end whether he went to UDub or UK. Yeah, he gets max exposure under Cal but it's not exactly like the Huskies have failed to produce great talent for the NBA.

Going with a team that will have a bunch of untested freshmen starting over a team that returns their top 4 starters?

Oh did I mention that last years KY team lost in the tourney to the same team that UW lost to? Ya, good decision.

Yep, BRoy and Nate Robinson are nobodys.

Not to mention Hawes as a fairly recent 1 and done.

Put your sports hate aside for a moment and look at the bigger picture. It sounds to me like your trying to justify it being a stupid decision because he went to a school you hate. With all the exposure he will get at UK, with UK putting 5 people in the first round of the draft, its a no brainer choice. If the kid gave a damn about college athletics, then he would stay close to home give it a go for the "home team" and build something "special".

Nobody said Washington is terrible. Point is, the kids goal is to get in the league and have big time exposure. Your chances of getting that in a watered down northwestern media market in a conference that blew chunks for most of the season last year, isn't as good as coming to UK. Its a fact. UW doesn't put the players in the league like Cal does.

Your point is valid in a perfect world. However, this is obviously far from it.

While you do have a point as far as the TV coverage, scouts will come and see players regardless, and you can't say that UW doesn't put players into the league.

Look at UW and KY over the last 10 years...

And for the record, I don't HATE Kentucky. I'm a Vol football fan, and a UW hoops fan, other than the recruiting fiasco this year in Hoops, KY is hardly relevant to either of my teams.

The Huskies just couldn't pay what Calipari can. And Cal will get credit for "developing" another player that could've gone straight to the NBA on his own. Man i hate kentucky and their coach.

Yeah, I know UW puts players in the league. Scouts evaluate talent all over the nation, which is why players from Butler, Morehead St, and other schools are declaring for the draft.

Evaluationg UW vs KY over the last 10 years isn't what I'm comparing though, I"m comparing it to the UK of now. Cal is going to put 5 players in the first round, in one season. Thats insane. Let me put it this way....

If Daniel Orton went to UW and averaged 3 points and 3 rebounds per game, there is no way in hell he goes in the 1st round of the draft. Probably the same for Bledsoe and his average. Fair or not, its just a different perception from the media (and some scouts).

On a side note, I'm a semi-fan of UW football. Locker was probably the #1 QB in this draft had he came out.

We don't know where Orton will go until he's gone. Had Romar the same recruiting class as Cal last year he'd be putting quite a few into the NBA as well. Matter of fact, you could compare Patterson to Quincy Pondexter, as a senior who finally figured it out and will likely go 1st round.

Locker is fun to watch, he's like Tebow, but with a quality throwing motion.

I bet Gary Williams is having a good laugh at Lorenzo Romar's expense right now. What comes around goes around.

Because of Terrence Ross? He decommitted from Maryland long before Romar went after him.

As Matt Jones pointed out earlier, I wonder if the national media blows up the story about UW fans vulger and insulting comments to Jones on his facebook, or if thats only relevant when UK fans do it. They had a field day when UK fans did it to Ferguson, and to some extent Orton when that comment came out from his dad. I'm sure it will go unnoticed this round.

Did you read that Parrish article? He pretty much sums it all up. Jones is the one putting himself in that position.

He did.

HF, you're kidding yourself if you think there aren't groups from fanbases of every big-time hoops program that wouldn't go so far as to do something like that.
